Fewer Points for Longer Messages

I might be unique in this, I'm not sure, but I feel like a lot could be gained by rewarding more succinct responses to people to help keep the most pertinent content available and prevent side-tracking. Perhaps in the same way you reward more points up to a certain length, you could remove points for going beyond a certain length. I tend to dislike posts that are book-length especially because a lot of them are very off-topic for most of it.

I can sympathize. However, sometimes the long posts are relevant. I wouldn't want to automatically penalize people just for having a long post.
