Award categories

Post by otseng »

It's been suggested to have awards similar to America's Debate. So, we're going to set that up. But first, we need to decide on the categories. Below are the list of categories for the awards. If you have any additional ideas, post them here and I'll update the list below. After we finalize on the list, then we can open up the awards to nominations.

Best debater
Most civil debater
Most logical debater
Best researcher
Best topic/thread
Best avatar
Best username
Who most like to meet in real life
Best signature

Is there going to be a cutoff date for membership to determine who is eligble, or what post are eligible?

None is set yet.

I was thinking that the actual voting would be for the 2004 year. And then do awards yearly. So, the voting will be held in Dec. Working backwards, we have Nov to finalize the nominations. Perhaps Sept, Oct to start the nominations. And then have Aug to finalize the award categories. What do people think of this schedule?

What do you think of having a prize (bonus tokens) for some of the winners? Perhaps they can also get a special group membership too (2004 Best Debater, 2004 Most Civil Debater).

Please allow me to veto your suggestion, please do not take offense though I fear that we may hurt someone's feelings :( probably mine  :nervious:
Ok, fine, how about:

Person least likely to complain about not winning an award.
He he he,
Oh I prefer that so much better and I would be oh so proud to win that award :writers_block: :joy:
Well, then conversely one could give an award for:

Person most likely to complain about not winning an award.

I think it works out fairly well.

Person 1: I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T WIN AN AWARD! I'M SO GOING TO COMPLAIN TO....
Person 2: Relax, man. You just won.
Person 1: Yay :)
:chuckel: :yikes:    That's really funny!
