On What Basis is an Intelligent God Possible w/o Evolution?

Post by harvey1 »

On another thread in another sub-forum, QED asks:
[H]ow [can] a prime mover, or uncaused cause, such as [ to design, create and keep things on track] have so much intelligence -- a property we otherwise associate with the product of billions of years of evolution in challenging and complex environments like our own[?] Intelligence is only understood by us in these terms. This is mostly why I can't bring myself to jump on your gravy train. I want to know how the rational mind can conceive of disembodied intelligence in posession of all the necessary tools to build a universe.
Anyone have a response to QED?

Grumpy wrote:The fact that you are unable to refute my logic, and do not accept the evidence of my veracity in no way changes the fact that your positions on a whole host of subjects is just untenable. If I held to those positions I wouldn't like someone like me either.(too crude, too direct, not susceptible to overly complicated philosophical obfuscation, and too dang smart by half, but humble). So I understand, don't worry about it, I've had to deal with rejection before in my life.

If popularity was an accurate measure of veracity that situation would still exist, but it is not, so let's not go there.

So avoid debating with me if you will, I will still call attention to the numerous logical fallacies I and others see in your posts.
You have it all wrong. You are in my opinion not a rational thinker.

You have it all wrong. You are in my opinion are no better at argument than a YEC creationist who purposely evades scientific arguments. So I don't waste my time.
How ironic!!! Your reliance on Platonic Philosophies(those that do not refer to or have no congruence with reality) reminds me of those Creationists who think the Bible is a physics book. It is one of the main reasons I spend so much time falsifying those arguements.

Well, if you can't take the heat...

Well, I have the thread to link to your arguments in the future. Posters are usually smart enough to figure it out from there.

I think you guys are both wrong. Grumpy is wrong for using personal attacks. Harvey is wrong for assuming that showing "300+ papers and countless seminars" automatically makes him right (in the context of these forums).
