Misconceptions about Christianity

1. Christianity is based on blind faith. Christianity is not based on blind faith, but rather faith based on evidence. Blind faith is superstition. Christianity is overwhelmingly supported by reason, evidence, and scientific inquiry. http://www.faithfacts.org/search-for-tr ... christians.

2. We get to heaven based on how good we are here on earth. This is not true we are saved by grace through faith it is not of ourselves; it is the gift of God.

3. Once we become a Christian, being saved by God’s gift of grace, it does not matter what we do
This is not true. God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, so shall he reap.

4. There are many ways to heaven, many paths to God. Because man is separated from God by his sin, the penalty for our sin had to be paid somehow for justice to be done. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins. Thus Christ is thus the only name under heaven by which man may be saved (Acts 4:12). http://www.faithfacts.org/search-for-tr ... s-the-same.

5. It doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you are sincere. This is a nice idea, but does not hold up to logic. Christianity is so radically different from other belief systems that if Christianity is true, the others are false. One can be sincere and be sincerely wrong. Sincere belief in a cult, in a false religion, in atheism, or in the tooth fairy do not get one to heaven.
http://www.faithfacts.org/world-religio ... ristianity.

6. The New Testament was written long after the events took place and are thus subject to legends being inserted into the text. The New Testament was written entirely by eye witnesses to the life of Christ or by interviewers of eyewitnesses. Many of the books were written within 25 or so years of Christ’s death, and many scholars—both liberal and conservative—are moving toward the view that all of the books of the New Testament were written prior to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 AD. The one book for which some doubt remains is Revelation. But recent scholarship holds that even this book was written prior to 70 AD. This is the view that liberal scholar John A. T. Robinson presents in his book Redating the New Testament. This is also the view that conservative scholar Kenneth Gentry presents in his book Before Jerusalem Fell. So there was not enough time for the stories to have been developed into legend. Further, as professor of Medieval and Renaissance English, C. S. Lewis said, “Another point is that on that view you would have to regard the accounts of the Man [Jesus] as being legends. Now, as a literary historian, I am perfectly convinced that whatever else the Gospels are they are not legends. I have read a great deal of legend and I am quite clear that they are not the same sort of thing. (quote from Lewis’ “God in the Dock.)

7. The Bible has been changed or is otherwise not true to the original manuscripts. The original manuscripts—that is, the actual pieces of parchment or papyrus upon which St. Paul and others wrote the Bible—are no longer extant. But, especially as regards to the New Testament there has been an unbroken chain of manuscripts from the originals. There are thousands of ancient manuscripts extant, including ones from the first and second centuries. Scholars have been able to correlate the manuscripts to know that the Bible we have today is faithful to the originals. See http://www.faithfacts.org/search-for-truth/maps. A good book on this issue is The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable? by F. F. Bruce. Regarding the Old Testament, the Dead Sea Scrolls, first discovered in 1947 were from the time of Christ and even to the 2nd century BC. These manuscripts predate the previously oldest known manuscripts by a thousand years. Comparisons of these texts with the others already in existence showed that they were essentially identical. This information confirms how carefully the texts were copied over the centuries and has given scholars tremendous confidence in the accuracy of the Old Testament we have today.

Most of this is debatable.

But you said on the "Misconceptions about Islam" thread in your post of 6/10 - 10:47PM that "The NT is a fulfillment of OT prophecies" when you said you would be starting this thread.

You haven't addressed any of that at all.

.
There were two primary evidences which the apostles appealed to over and over again to establish the Deity and Messiahship of the Lord Jesus Christ. One was the fact of the resurrection and the other was the Old Testament prophecies which were fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ.

Below is a listing of the prophecies written in the Old Testament and given to the Jewish nation so that they might be able to recognize their Messiah. And yet they still don't believe, but here is what you asked for in part:

I. THE ACTUAL PROPHECIES

A. Concerning His Birth

1. Born of the seed of woman (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:4; Matthew 1:20)
2. Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 24, 25)
3. Son of God (Psalm 2:7; Matthew 3:17)
4. Seed of Abraham (Genesis 22:18; Matthew 1:1; Galatians 3:16) Here it is determined that the Messiah would be a Jewish descendant.
5. Son of Isaac (Genesis 21:12; Luke 3:23,34) Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael. Now God eliminates one half of the lineage of Isaac.
6. Son of Jacob (Numbers 24:17; Luke 3:23,34) Isaac had two sons, Jacob and Esau. Now God eliminates one half of the lineage of Isaac.
7. Tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:10; Luke 3:23,33) Jacob had twelve sons and each became a tribe of the Hebrew nation. Now God eliminates eleven-twelfths of the lineage of Jacob.
8. Family line of Jesse (Isaiah 11:1; Luke 3:23,32) Now God narrows it down even further by picking one family line out of the tribe of Judah.
9. House of David (Jeremiah 23:5; Luke 3:23,31) Jesse had at least eight sons (I Samuel 16:10,11). Now God eliminates all of Jesse's sons except one, David.
10. Born at Bethlehem (Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:1) Now God eliminates all the cities in the world except one, Bethlehem.
11. Presented with gifts (Psalm 72:10; Isaiah 60:6; Matthew 2:1,11)
12. Herod kills children (Jeremiah 31:15; Matthew 2:16)

B. Concerning His Nature

13. His Pre-Existence (Micah 5:2; Colossians 1:17; John 1:1)
14. He shall be called Lord (Psalm 110:1; Luke 20:41-44)
15. He shall be called Immanuel ("God with us") (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23)
16. Shall be a prophet (Deuteronomy 18:18; Matthew 21:11)
17. Shall be a priest (Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 5:5,6)
18. Shall be a judge (Isaiah 33:22; John 5:30)
19. Shall be a king (Isaiah 33:22; Matthew 27:37)
20. Special anointment of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2; Matthew 3:16,17)
21. He zeal for God (Psalm 69:9; John 2:15-17)

C. Concerning His Ministry

22. Preceded by a messenger (Isaiah 40:3; Matthew 3:1,2)
23. Ministry to begin in Galilee (Isaiah 9:1,2; Matthew 4:12,13,17)
24. Ministry of miracles (Isaiah 35:5, 6a; Matthew 9:35)
25. Teacher of parables (Psalm 78:2; Matthew 13:34)
26. He was to enter the temple (Malachi 3:1; Matthew 21:12)
27. He was to enter Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9; Luke 19:35,36,37a)
28. A "Stone Of Stumbling" to the Jewish nation (Psalm 118:22; I Peter 2:7)
29. "Light" to the Gentiles (Isaiah 60:3; 49:6; Acts 13:47,48a)

D. Concerning Events After His Burial

30. His resurrection (Psalm 16:10; Acts 2:31)
31. His ascension (Psalm 68:18a; Acts 1:9)
32. Seated at the right hand of God (Psalm 110:1; Hebrews 1:3)

E. Prophecies Fulfilled In One Day

The following 29 prophecies from the Old Testament, which speak of the betrayal, trial, death and burial of Jesus, were spoken at various times by many different voices during the five centuries from 1000-500 BC, and yet all of them were literally fulfilled in one twenty-four hour period of time in Jesus' life.

33. Betrayed by a friend (Psalm 41:9; Matthew 10:4)
34. Sold for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12; Matthew 26:15)
35. Money to be thrown down in God's house (Zechariah 11:13b; Matthew 27:5a)
36. Price given for potter's filed (Zechariah 11:13b; Matthew 27:7)

In the previous four prophecies we find in both prophecy and fulfillment the following:

1. Betrayed
2. By a friend
3. For 30 pieces of silver (not 29)
4. Silver (not gold)
5. Thrown down (not placed)
6. In God's house
7. Money used to buy potter's field

37. Forsaken by His disciples (Zechariah 13:7; Mark 14:50)
38. Accused by false witnesses (Psalm 35:11; Matthew 26:59-61)
39. Mute before accusers (Isaiah 53:7; Matthew 27:12-19)
40. Wounded and bruised (Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 27:26)
41. Smitten and spit upon (Isaiah 50:6; Micah 5:1; Matthew 26:67)
42. Mocked (Psalm 22:7,8; Matthew 27:31)
43. Fell under the cross (Psalm 109:24; John 19:17; Luke 23:26)
44. Hands and feet pierced (Psalm 22:16; Luke 23:33)
45. Crucified with thieves (Isaiah 53:12; Matthew 27:38)
46. Made intercession for His persecutors (Isaiah 53:12; Luke 23:34)
47. Rejected by his own people (Isaiah 53:3; John 7:5,48)
48. Hated without a cause (Psalm 69:4; John 15:25)
49. Friends stood afar off (Psalm 38:11; Luke 23:49)
50. People shook their heads (Psalm 109:25; Matthew 27:39)
51. Stared upon (Psalm 22:17; Luke 23:35)
52. Garments parted and lots cast (Psalm 22:18; John 19:23,24)
53. Suffered thirst (Pslam 69:21; John 19:28)
54. Gall and vinegar offered Him (Psalm 69:21; Matthew 27:34)
55. His forsaken cry (Psalm 22:1; Matthew 27:46)
56. Committed Himself to God (Psalm 31:5; Luke 23:46)
57. His bones not broken (Psalm 34:20; John 19:33)
58. His heart broken (Psalm 22:14; John 19:34) The blood and water which came from Jesus' pierced side are evidences that the heart had literally burst.
59. His side pierced (Zechariah 12:10; John 19:34)
60. Darkness over the land (Amos 8:9; Matthew 27:45)
61. Buried in a rich man's tomb (Isaiah 53:9; Matthew 27:57-60)

II. OBJECTIONS ANSWERED

A. Fulfilled Prophecies Were Actually Written At Or After The Time Of Jesus

Answer: If you are not satisfied with the date of 450 BC as the date of the Old Testament completion, then realize that the Greek translation of the Old Testament was completed in 250 BC.
Therefore, it appears evident that there were at least 250 years between the time of the writing of the prophecies and their fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

B. The Fulfilled Prophecy In Jesus Was Deliberate On His Part. He Knew The Old Testament Well Enough And Just Set Out To Fulfill All Of Them.

Answer: This might seem possible until we realize that thee were many prophecies outside of His control, such as:

1. Place of birth (Micah 5:2)
2. Time of birth (Daniel 9:25; Genesis 49:10)
3. Manner of birth (Isaiah 7:14)
4. Betrayal
5. Manner of death (Psalm 22:16)
6. People's reactions (Mocking, spitting, staring, etc.)
7. Piercing of His side
8. Burial

C. The Fulfilled Prophecy In Jesus Was Coincidental, An Accident

Answer: Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Chicago: Moody Press, 1963) determines the probability of one man fulfilling eight of the prophecies of the Old Testament for the Messiah to be 1 in 10 to the 17th power.

Now let's try to imagine what this means. If we took that many silver dollars (100,000,000,000,000,000) and laid them over the State of Texas, they would cover the state two feet deep. Now mark one of the silver dollars, stir the whole mass thoroughly, blindfold a person, and tell him/her that they can travel as far as they want but must pick up one silver dollar and say that it is the marked one. What chance would s/he have of picking up the right one? It would be the exact same odds of anyone fulfilling eight of the Messianic prophecies by chance alone.

Peter Stoner then goes on to consider the possibility of any one person fulfilling 48 of the prophecies by chance. Here the odds jump to 1 in 10 to the 157th power. That number would look like this:

1 out of 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

CONCLUSION

"Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other: I am God and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done; Saying, 'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.'"
(Isaiah 46:9,10)

"I declare the former things long ago and they went forth from My mouth, and I proclaimed them. Suddenly, I acted and they came to pass. Therefore, I declared them to you long ago, before they took place I proclaimed them to you, lest you say, 'My idol has done them, and my graven image and my molten image have commanded them.'" (Isaiah 48:3,5)

I. THE ACTUAL PROPHECIES

A. Concerning His Birth

1. Born of the seed of woman (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:4; Matthew 1:20)
Welll, so was I!!!!! Can you name ONE person in the entire world that was not born of the seed of a woman?? Not much of a prophecy.
2. Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 24, 25)
Mistranslation, taken out of context. Isaiah was talking about his own wife and child. We discussed this before....

3. Son of God (Psalm 2:7; Matthew 3:17)
Psalm 2:7 is not a property. It is talking about King David, and how he became exulted by God when he became King. Sorry.. but this one is taken out of context by Matthew and retrofitted into place.
ANd here were have things written TO.. For example.. there is no evidence outside the NT about the kids being killed, not even by Herods most critical enemies.
Bethelam in Micah 5:2 is a clan, not a place. ..

The lineage is also from a CURSED line .. so that woudl elminate it from being the Messiah. Sorry... you are pretty much striking out.
Nope.. he wasn't a priest.. preacher maybe. but not a priest. Not a king either.. he was not anointed in the temple by the High Priest. Nor, was he called 'lord' in his lifetime.. not until you got some people push his divinity.. .. as for 'special annointedment by the HOly spirit'.. that's the claim of Matthew, but heck. that is written to..

Gosh, that is a lot of fluff and nonsense. I am sure you LOVE to cut/paste lists like that.. Yet .. you don't bother to examine them in depth. I noticed one big issue is that you just cut/paste the list, and didn't bother to look at the in context. .. or do an analysis of them at all. There is enough out and out misstatements in that list that the whole thing can be chucked without regard. I would be MORE than happy to discuss any of the top 10 you want in head to head debate.. with you choosing any of the list you want.

So far.. .. well.. there is a enough misrepresentation that you have not shown any of your claims to be accurate at all.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

I'm going to respond to this section first ..... to respond to the entire cut& paste job in one post would be unwieldy and unreadable.

1. Born of the seed of woman (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:4; Matthew 1:20)

Weren't ALL human beings born of women? Zera, in this instance, is plural, referring to ALL biological descendants .... and the phrase "seed of woman" is used in the Hebrew bible more than just in this instance. It is used in reference to Hagar and to Rebecca.

**Fail - not specific to Jesus.

2. Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 24, 25)

Well, IF Isaiah had used – in the original Hebrew – the word bethulah, it could legitimately refer to a virgin. But he didn’t. He used the word almah, a word that means a young woman of marriageable age …… and has nothing to do with an intact hymen.

And Isaiah said to King Ahaz, “Therefore the Lord will Himself give you a sign: Here! The young woman is pregnant, and she shall give birth to a son; and you [young woman] shall call his name Imanu’EL.

Why would Isaiah tell King Ahaz to look for a sign that would not happen for another 750 years (give or take a few)??? It doesn’t make any sense at all!

And if this verse is referring to Mary, she was pregnant for about 750 years! And she didn’t call her son Imanuel.

**Fail – not about a virgin.

3. Son of God (Psalm 2:7; Matthew 3:17)

The Psalmist – King David – is not a prophet. This is a poem about the Philistines rising against an anointed king of Israel, as told in 2Samuel 5:17. Look at line 7 – “I will tell of the decree; The Lord said to me, "You are My son: this day have I begotten you. That is King David talking, about what G-d told him.

**Fail – not about Jesus.

4. Seed of Abraham (Genesis 22:18; Matthew 1:1; Galatians 3:16) Here it is determined that the Messiah would be a Jewish descendant.

So the Jewish messiah will be Jewish? I can only respond, “DUH! This does not refer specifically to Jesus …… it could refer to any of the billions and billions of Jewish men born since Mt. Sinai.

Fail – Not specifically about Jesus.

5. Son of Isaac (Genesis 21:12; Luke 3:23,34) Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael. Now God eliminates one half of the lineage of Isaac.

You mean ‘the lineage of Abraham’, I presume. Well, considering the descendants of Ishmael are not Jews ….. and the messiah will be Jewish ……. this is another duh-worthy “prophesy.

Fail – not specifically about Jesus.

6. Son of Jacob (Numbers 24:17; Luke 3:23,34) Isaac had two sons, Jacob and Esau. Now God eliminates one half of the lineage of Isaac.

Good job! So far, we have eliminated TWO half’s of Isaac’s lineage! LOL I know ….. it was a typo on the part of the site you cut ‘n pasted from!

**Fail – not specifically about Jesus

7. Tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:10; Luke 3:23,33) Jacob had twelve sons and each became a tribe of the Hebrew nation. Now God eliminates eleven-twelfths of the lineage of Jacob.

It also eliminates Jesus. Tribal lineage is conferred from biological father to biological son ….. and that is scriptural. If Jesus had no biological father, he could not belong to a specific tribe.

**Fail – eliminates Jesus as possible messiah

8. Family line of Jesse (Isaiah 11:1; Luke 3:23,32) Now God narrows it down even further by picking one family line out of the tribe of Judah.

See above – cannot possibly apply to Jesus …… he did not have a biological father who could confer membership in the tribe of Judah.

**Fail – eliminates Jesus as possible messiah

9. House of David (Jeremiah 23:5; Luke 3:23,31) Jesse had at least eight sons (I Samuel 16:10,11). Now God eliminates all of Jesse's sons except one, David.

Was Jesus’ biological father of the Davidic line? No, Jesus didn’t have a biological father. So he was not of the House of David.

**Fail – eliminates Jesus as possible messiah

10. Born at Bethlehem (Micah 5:2; Matthew 2:1) Now God eliminates all the cities in the world except one, Bethlehem.

Are you sure this refers to Jesus? It most likely refers to David & his descendants because he was a son of Jesse and came out of Bethlehem. And – according to halachah – Jesus is not a descendant of David ….. which comes through biological father to biological son. Jesus had no biological father, so his father could not be a descendant of David.

**Fail – eliminates Jesus as possible messiah

11. Presented with gifts (Psalm 72:10; Isaiah 60:6; Matthew 2:1,11)

So Jesus was the only baby ever born to whom visitors brought gifts when he was born??? You have got to be able to do better than this!!

**Fail – not specifically about Jesus

12. Herod kills children (Jeremiah 31:15; Matthew 2:16)

And nobody noticed …. Not even Josephus? You’d think that if there were this massacre of Jewish male babies – future taxpayers to the Roman Empire ….. someone would have noticed and complained!

But nobody did ….. other than the disciples, writing well after the supposed fact.

**Fail – unsupported

Is it really necessary to continue?

So far, we have established that the Jewish messiah will be Jewish ….. and that Jesus was Jewish. That fact alone does not make Jesus the Jewish messiah.

We know Jesus was not the messiah because nothing messianic ever happened. And we will know the messiah by what he does, during his lifetime.

Jesus didn’t get the job done ……. So he doesn’t earn the job title.

I will deal with your points as I can. You said, "David is not a prophet." That is incorrect: Acts 2: 29 “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31 he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34 For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies your footstool.’

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.

Jesus is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah. If those prophecies weren't about Jesus, then who are they about? In the OT days people lived for 100s of years.

Herod kills children (Jeremiah 31:15; Matthew 2:16)

"And nobody noticed …. Not even Josephus? You’d think that if there were this massacre of Jewish male babies – future taxpayers to the Roman Empire ….. someone would have noticed and complained!

But nobody did ….. other than the disciples, writing well after the supposed fact. You says there were many massacred to have an affect on tax payers?" It could have just been 20 or 30 male children killed. No number was specified. If the disciples noticed and documented it you can't say nobody noticed it.

Someday, you will realize that citing Christian NT scripture to a Jew is a fruitless undertaking when you are trying to prove that these Jewish prophesies could have applied to ONLY Jesus.
Jesus is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah. If those prophecies weren't about Jesus, then who are they about? In the OT days people lived for 100s of years.
By whom? Certainly not Jews! According to scripture, tribal lineage in Judaism is conferred from biological father to biological son. So only someone quite unlearned in halachah could say that about someone who was supposed to be fathered by G-d.

If you want to prove to Jews that Jesus fulfilled that prophesy of the Tanakh ..... then he had to do so according to halachah. Either he was fathered by a human male who was a member of the tribe of Judah and he was a member of the tribe of Judah ..... or he wasn't fathered by a human male who was a member of the tribe of Judah and he was not a member of the tribe of Judah.

You cannot say he fulfilled the prophesy by retroactively changing the Law that Jesus said was not to be changed one jot or tittle. That's being dishonest.
Herod kills children (Jeremiah 31:15; Matthew 2:16)

"And nobody noticed …. Not even Josephus? You’d think that if there were this massacre of Jewish male babies – future taxpayers to the Roman Empire ….. someone would have noticed and complained!

Not one of the many authors writing at that time about what was happening then ever said one word about it ..... not one word. Nothing from the critics of Herod ..... and that info would have been very useful for anyone interested in deposing him. Nothing from the fans of Herod ..... and that info would have been very useful for proving what a cruel taskmaster and what total control he had over Judea.

Nothing. The ONLY source for any of it is in Christian scripture ..... which can hardly be considered an unbiased source.

The rest of these prophesies are so general that millions and millions of Jewish men fulfill them.

The Lion of the tribe of Judah

Post by Burninglight »

Rev. 5: 1 Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals? 3And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, 4and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. 5And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.

Even Muslims believe that Jesus was born of a virgin. That is not virgin as in young woman. It is a miracle birth that is impossible without God's intervention. Jesus certainly qualifies as the the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Christianity and Islam make up most of the world's population and they know it. The Jews reject their King and Lord. He has become the chief corner stone. Isaiah 53 makes it clear who Jesus is. The disciples of Jesus who were also Jews knew who He was. Why would they risk their lives to preach a tale? Look at the Miracles Jesus did. He healed the lame forgave sin, raised the dead, turned water to wine and rose from the dead. If you cannot believe when you have all this hin sight, you will not believe even if Moses came back from the dead and told you listen to Jesus. Yeshua is King of the Jews.
He is my King. Do you know Him?

Proverbs 30:4 (NIV) Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and the name of his son? Tell me if you know!

Matthew 3:17 (NIV) And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

LOL So says Christian scripture. And you will, apparently, allow no one to hold a different opinion.

So tell me, when was Jesus anointed as the king? Who did the anointing? How was it done?

Jesus worked miracles, you say, and this is proof that he is who you say he is. But the Tanakh says different .....

"If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass of which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods which you have not known, and let us serve them,' you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul" (Deuteronomy 13:1-3).

Jesus leads Jews away from the Torah. Therefore, Jesus is a false prophet who works miracles to take Jews out of our covenantal relationship with G-d.

And once again ..... quoting the NT to Jews won't help bolster your position.

And trying to convince me that everything I believe is wrong by telling me that even Muslims believe Jesus was born of a virgin .....after watching you try to make garbage out of Muslims beliefs, is ..... well, a joke!

A joke? Well, if it is a joke, they say many a true word is spoken in jest. BTW, calling Jesus a false prophet flies in the face of Islam not just Christianity. It is also throwing insult upon injury to God and God's beloved son. Satan attacks Jesus more than any other prophet that ever lived. Even in the secular realm. If one wants to share about Islam no problem.

Any religion can be taught but not Jesus Christ the son of the living God. The Jews will one day look on whom they have pierced. Jesus is coming back. There are many Jews that recognized that Jesus is the Messiah. Those that reject Him will get an anti Christ deception. They will think he is the messiah. He will be able to do lying signs and wonders. Daniel speaks about the abomination of desolation. The anti Christ will claim to be the Messiah and resume the daily sacrifices until he sets up the abomination of desolation; that is when the Jews will Know that Jesus is Lord of Lords

Jesus said, He didn't come to destroy the law and the prophets but to fulfill and that He did. He is our Savior, He is our rest, He is our hope of glory. He is the Rose of Sharon; Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting father, Prince of Peace, LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, the Beginning and the End. The I AM.

The Jews once said let His blood be on us and our children. They took the blame for an innocent man's death. But not just any innocent man. The word of God in human form
