Reincarnation is deception!

If we start to examine basic views of the New Age movement and the Oriental religions, it is good to start from reincarnation. This doctrine is namely in the background almost in all teaching of the New age movement and it is also the basic belief of the Oriental religions, in other words of Hinduism and Buddhism. About its commonness has been estimated, that about 25 % of people in the western countries believes in it, but in India and other countries of Asia, where is the origin of this doctrine, the percentage is naturally much bigger. There, in other words mainly in India and other countries of Asia has been taught this doctrine already at least for 2000 years, and obviously it was accepted generally about 300 before Christ, not just before it.

When it is a question of reincarnation, it in any case is based on the fact, that our life is believed to be continuous circulation. Its is believed to be continuous circulation, so that each person is born on the earth again and again and again, and gets a new incarnation always according to that, how he has lived in his former life. All that bad, what happens to us today, should only be consequence of the earlier happenings, and that we must now reap it, what we have sown earlier. Only if we experience enlightenment and at the same time are freed from the circulation, in other words we will achieve moksha, so this circulation does not continue eternally. (However in the western view achieving of moksha is not very important. Instead of that, in the western world reincarnation is seen in positive light, in other words mainly as a possibility to develop and to grow spiritually. It hasn't similar negative nuance to generally in east.)

But what can we think about reincarnation; is it really true or not, and is it worth while to believe? We try to search for answer to this matter in this writing.

This is of course your opinion which just happens to have as much evidence backing it as does any other theory regarding the soul. Welcome to the real world where everyones beliefs do not match your own.

This is based on Greek philosophers and Aquinas who are some of the greatest thinkers in history.

Terribly sorry, you posted it so I assumed you held that belief. The point still remains though, there is no evidence that a soul even exists much less what form it takes so regardless who makes the assertion it is still an opinion, possibly based on other philosophical or religious beliefs or assumptions but it is an opinion all the same. Making an argument from authority does not strengthen your claim.

No there is evidence on the fact that our minds are capable of knowing reality in an immaterial way in order to know universals.

Our mind is naturally endowed to do this with an immaterial soul.

Please do provide some evidence to support this view.

An interesting book to read about past lives/reincarnation etc is Many lives, Many masters by Dr Brian Weiss.

It is about a psychiatrist who didn't know what to do with one patient he had. Then one day he decided to try hypnotherapy and asked her "Go back to when you first got your fear of water" - and she went back to a time in ancient Egypt where she'd died in a flood.

Anyway, a very interesting book.

Just as I think about it now, I remember something from when I was a kid, about 2 - 2 1/2. I got told this by mum.

My mum and I were crossing the road, and she said "Now, you've got to stop and look both ways otherwise you might end up underneath a car" (translated from dutch)

I replied, saying "but mum, I've already been underneath a car 4 years ago"

Anyway, there's my evidence of reincarnation. Although, I don't believe karma from the lifetime before affects anything in your current life. I believe you start with a clean slate.

And you are suggesting that reincarnation is the only and the best explanation of this alleged conversation?

No, I'm suggesting that it is one - and makes sense, because what two year old says that kind of thing. "underneath a car" in dutch = "being hit by a car"

And what two year old says it happened 4 years ago?

One possible explanation does not qualify as evidence. The most likely or the only possible explanation does qualify as evidence.
