[Dimmesdale]

Once in a forest red and yellow
Did a bear strut up and down and bellow:
“Who but I can eat this honey sweet,
Preserved from all manner of defeat.�
A wayward crow did o’er-hear
And quickly on the honeycomb did peer.
She wondered: “Who is this beast that doth yell,
Pompous, rude and loud as a bell?
Stealing the bees’ hard work in surfeit
As though he alone were worth it?�
Flying she visited her violet crew
And rightly expressed her bitter view.
In the midst of the heated cawing,
A plan was formed with insight dawning.
Thus it was arranged for them to take
The mushrooms by the shores of the lake
To forthwith poison the bear’s water well,
And by gradation cause his brains to swell.

The USA had led the world
in etiquette and charm
and even tackled climate change
to save the world from harm

But then a TV actor
came upon the scene
and brought the world a nightmare
despite this loving dream

A threat to build a wall
to isolate the nation
and prevent those seeking safety
from legal immigration

He shut out all our allies
and befriended all our foes
and every trust we ever made
fell down like dominoes

He made enemies of Americans
and swapped the truth for evil lies
And preached to all the people
not to trust their lying eyes.

He screamed, "Reporters are the traitors!
They don't report the truth!"
But the people didn't fall for this
in the midterm voting booth

And now he's just a criminal
of the highest order in the land
bullying all his enemies
as he sinks in his own quicksand

The Republicans are desperate
they don't know how to act
they know the man is guilty
but can't admit the fact

So they attack their own democracy
to defend his heinous crimes
and blame it on the politics
of these restless hateful times

But history records it all
and doesn't miss a bump
future generations
will know the truth of Donald Trump
