Post #2Because groups that push propaganda know it is easier to convince people of unverifiable promises when they are feeling vulnerable and needy. This is like asking why bear hunt salmon when they run upstream to spawn. They do so because the prey is much easier to catch.JehovahsWitness wrote:

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

Not believing isn't the same as believing not.

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.

And what in your opinion in the artical is "biased" "misleading" or "political" ?PROPAGANDA
information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view.
The Bible's wisdom can help you to deal with problems that are caused by isolation.
- Pursue spiritual growth
- Read comforting Bible passages
- Understand the meaning of world events
- Avoid needless anxiety
- Cultivate friendships
- Stay physically active

It's all about relationship, isn't it? God created us to be in a relationship with him and with each other. To live without relationships is to go against everything God planned and wanted for us. We need human contact the way we need water.
My church is doing whatever it can to keep everybody connected. Services are recorded without a congregation. Each part of it is recorded at different times (music at one time, sermon at another, children's story at yet another time) so that nobody but the person/people in front of the camera and the person behind it are in the sanctuary at any given time. The parts are then edited together and made available online.
There is a call group -- people who have volunteered to phone people just to connect with them and make sure everybody is okay and to offer help to those who may not be able to get out and get their own groceries, etc.
And then there are the Bible studies and prayer groups -- participants get together online through Zoom in real time.
It's funny because I know that people have long talked about how technology keeps us from getting together face to face and it can, therefore, be an isolating thing. Yet now that same technology is what is keeping us in contact with each other.

So true,
We (Jehovahs Witnesses) mostly use ZOOM - (we have services twice a week)... it was quite a thing to scramble at first but I was quite impressed (especially with the older ones) how everyone managed to adapt. The important thing is to keep in touch outside of weekly virtual meetings (calling, Skype, zoom, team ect). Those living alone and especially the elderly have to have special care.
Preaching the good news and attending services under lockdown has been challenging but technology has come through for us there's no doubt!
