If it's OK with everyone, we will schedule the start of debating the book the beginning of January.
Until then, let's perhaps try to reach an agreement on some guidelines for the debate.
Here's my initial thoughts:
- We are debating the book on its own merits. Usage of modern science to either attack or defend Darwin's points cannot be used.
- The first edition will be the primary text. All other editions of the book can be referenced for general commenting, but not for debating.
- And of course, all rules of the forum must be followed.

I understand that one can't use present-day science, but I am guessing one can use the science available to C. Darwin (e.g. Linneus, the scalae naturae etc.).
