The answer is no we are not perfect b/c of what (Rom.3;23 ;6:23) teaches.

The good news to those who obey the lord is that He sees the faithful as though they are perfect (Heb.5:9).

We have been purified by obeying truth (1Peter 1:22,23).

We have been sanctified by the truth - the word of God (Jn 17:17).

That is if we have obeyed the truth (Rom. 6:3-6 ; 16-18)

Doctrine does matter (1Jn 4:1).

In the present moment, everything that exists in the universe is a consequence of everything that preceded it.
Everything that preceded this present moment in the universe traces back to the moment of the Big Bang.
The fundamental quantum state of the universe at the moment of the Big Bang was the reality in that moment.
Reality in that moment was nether perfect nor imperfect but existed necessarily.
Reality in every subsequent moment through to the present moment was neither perfect nor imperfect but existed necessarily.
As a component of the present moment reality, we are neither perfect nor imperfect but exist necessarily.

Why would you even suspect we might be perfect when god himself is less than perfect? If he can make mistakes surely it should be assumed we can as well. Or is this a bad assumption?

How are we defining the word "perfect" here? The Biblical meaning is this: being mature, whole, complete, lacking in nothing.

I would say that none of us are perfect in the Biblical sense of the word. We are all lacking in some way or another and are in an ongoing process of maturation.

I'm more than suggesting it, but claiming so. And I know because it's mentioned in the Bible.

I do not think a perfect human being knows everything...
