Paradise on Earth

Post by onewithhim »

When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?

If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.

We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

Matthew 5:5
Psalm 37:9-11,29

Peace to you,

Just adding some links to post 1871 (in response to the questions from RevelationsWon). This is a long thread and I was pretty sure I responded at least in part to the nature of the Garden of Eden, so I just went back and discovered some posts on the topic. I will add as I go if I find more...

Let us examine the sequence here.

1. There was war in heaven against the arch enemy of all righteousness and Lucifer and all his fallen angels were cast out of Heaven down unto the earth.

2. Satan then came into the Garden of Eden to tempt Adam and Eve.

3. The God you worship did not have the power to keep him out of heaven, so Satan then returned to heaven and was able to remain there for about 6000 more years.
That is your sequencing and I take no ownership of it. Feel free to ask what Jehovah's Witnesses believe should you be so inclined.

JOB 1:6 7 - NWT

Now the day came when the sons of the true God entered to take their station before Jehovah,+ and Satan+ also entered among them. Then Jehovah said to Satan: “Where have you come from?” Satan answered Jehovah: “From roving about on the earth and from walking about in it.”

No, a garden with plants and animals on Earth. There are no plants nor animals in heaven.

It's very sad that when people think of Paradise they think of Heaven and only Heaven. The Bible has so much information about Paradise here on the earth. The mainline churches are not teaching what the Bible actually is saying. Look at Isaiah 11:6-9 and observe if it is describing what will happen here on Earth, or, is it describing Heaven? There are not physical things, including animals, in Heaven. Neither is there a literal sea. This Earth will be revived into paradise conditions when Jesus takes out the evil people who don't want to do what is good.

What did Jesus mean when he said "The meek shall inherit the earth"?

What does Psalm 37: 10, 29 mean when it says "The righteous shall live forever on the earth"?
