I do not refer to its name but to the events that are believed to have happened 2000 years ago, and their significance.

Yes, he fulfilled all the Law, and the Prophets up to and including his time on Earth. After he returned to heaven and up to this point in time in which we live, he has been continuing to fulfill the Prophets.

I may have been misunderstanding you. I thought you might have been saying that the verse shows that the commandments have been cancelled. Sorry.

Not cancelled ( which implies stopped before they could be applied), fulfilled, ended, abolished.
