The serpent or Satan started that lie:
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (Genesis 3:4)
Satan lied when he informed Eve that she would live forever, "Ye shall not surely die."
Mainstream Christian theologians have incorporated that lie into their theologies for nearly two thousand years!
She ate the fruit and she died!

She ate the fruit and she died!
The serpent's telling her that she would not die if she ate the forbidden fruit was the lie.
He told her that she would not die, while he knew that she would die, in an effort to deceive her.
Lie: To present false information with the intention of deceiving.
And the deception worked.

Re: Who Started That Lie You Are Saved?
Post #16Agreed. So why do you propagate the untruth that she (and Adam) did not die in that very day they ate of the fruit (as God said they would in Genesis 2:17)? Perhaps you so so undiscerningly, but you continuously refute what God clearly told Adam and Eve in that verse. The point being, death was never -- even from the very beginning, never -- synonymous in any way, shape, or fashion with non-existence, and it never will be.myth-one.com wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 11:13 pm "She ate the fruit and she died!" is not the lie. Grace and peace to all.

Just think, all that time you have wasted running around hitting a little ball
you could have given it to God to which you owe everything.
Have you ever stopped to think...what does He think about it?

Re: Who Started That Lie You Are Saved?
Post #19HAHAHAHA!!! I actually have given it a lot of thought. Golf is not a worthless game, my friend. Some people do play it worthlessly, though, I'll give you that. But there are many life lessons in golf (and many other types of leisure). And it's actually very possible to praise God, and meditate on His precepts -- and be preached to, figuratively speaking -- while playing it. Grace and peace to you, Jim.jimtatertayte wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 12:10 pm Are you aware that your participation in that worthless game of the flesh is a sin?
