Did He Ever Really Have a Human Experience - re "Biblical Jesus"

Post by William »

Q: Given the information available, how can anyone claim that Jesus was ever really a human being, other than the form he occupied appeared to those who saw it, to be human?

Some bullet points re that information available.

° He was not the off-spring of two human parents.

° He remembered a prior existence and spoke about it to his followers, often.

° He was able to do things which appeared to be magic, but were actually miracles, because they were not the product of human invention [underhanded trickery] but rather the product of some type of channeling. [overhanded [divine] trickery]

The above examples are enough to get the ball rolling...

not just anyone can be used as a conduit for those abilities from Jehovah. Jesus was the only begotten Son of God and the best that could ever be offered. He was sent from heaven and was a perfect man. No imperfect, sinful human that descended from Adam could take the place of Jesus Christ.
IT is therefore clear that Jesus cannot have possibly lived a genuine Human Experience. He did not DO what other humans could do [sin] as well as he could DO what other humans have not been able to do. [re all of the 3 points of the OP]

Now if you want to argue that Jesus [sent from heaven by The Father] was necessary [in order that a sinless human could be possible] but that if he had chosen to do so, he could have sinned, we can investigate that option further.

Yes, it was necessary to send Jesus or even another angel in order that a sinless human could be possible, and yes, Jesus couldhave sinned if he chose to do so. (Isn't that what the once sinless Devil did---he chose to sin and rebel against God?) "God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name" (Phil.2:9) because he, Jesus, chose to remain obedient to God and not sin.

Jesus could have sinned if he chose to do so.
Do you have anything to support this statement?

In the meantime, do you think Human Beings could not sin, if they chose not to do so? According to some interpretations, all human beings are born into sin - born sinful already.

Perhaps, the better question should be: Did Jesus have any experience during his 33 years in mortality that was NOT HUMAN?

The question you have written is different rather than better than the OP, as the focus of the thread topic is engaging with the idea that what we are informed of Biblical Jesus, shows us clearly that he cannot have had a Genuine Human Experience - not merely that he didn't have an experience of being within Human form. The three main points detailed in the OP make that quite clear.

Why was Jesus put through the tests that he was subjected to if he could not sin? All of his suffering would have been a charade. He could have been disobedient as well as obedient. He had the choice. And he was "obedient to the point of death." Because he was obedient, "God exalted him to a superior position." (Philippians 2:8,9) If it was already a given that he would not sin, what he went through would have been totally unnecessary. It was a challenge for him---a BIG challenge, and it weighed on him heavily.

All human ARE born into sin, but Jesus was the exception. His perfect life was transferred into Mary's womb by Holy Spirit. He was not like every other human, yet he had free will and could have disobeyed.

No, humans cannot not sin just because they choose not to. We all cannot help it, being descendents of Adam. That is why Jesus had to die for all of us. (We CAN, however, refrain from committing deliberate sins. There is no sacrifice left for those who willfully commit sinful acts.)

What 'tests' are you referring to?
All of his suffering would have been a charade.
Where does the OP state that he did not experience suffering?
"God exalted him to a superior position." (Philippians 2:8,9)

What position was that?
If it was already a given that he would not sin, what he went through would have been totally unnecessary.
Why?
It was a challenge for him---a BIG challenge, and it weighed on him heavily.
Where is your support for the assertion that not sinning was "a BIG challenge" which weighed him down?
All humans ARE born into sin, but Jesus was the exception.

Thus, add that to the OP evidence that Jesus did NOT have a genuine Human Experience.
