Q: Given the information available, how can anyone claim that Jesus was ever really a human being, other than the form he occupied appeared to those who saw it, to be human?
Some bullet points re that information available.
° He was not the off-spring of two human parents.
° He remembered a prior existence and spoke about it to his followers, often.
° He was able to do things which appeared to be magic, but were actually miracles, because they were not the product of human invention [underhanded trickery] but rather the product of some type of channeling. [overhanded [divine] trickery]
The above examples are enough to get the ball rolling...

Can real human beings walk on water? NO
Can real human beings change water into wine? NO
Can real human beings cure people by words alone? NO
Can real human beings change a few loves of bread into enough to feed 5,000? NO
Can real human beings heal the blind from birth? NO
Can real human beings raise people from the dead? NO
ERGO: JESUS WAS NOT A REAL HUMAN BEING.

Post #4I can do things that you cannot do and visa versa. This is about claims that clearly tell us that biblical Jesus did things that no human being has ever been able to do.
Obviously then, simply appearing to be human does not make one human.
That is why the OP questions that biblical Jesus was really a human being at all.

Post #6Not "cease," but never was. Jesus never was a human being. At most he was a humanoid or demi-human.
As has been pointed out, he never had a biological father, whereas all other human beings did. It's like mules, which are neither jacks, male donkeys, or mares, female horses, their progenitors..

Re: Did He Ever Really Have a Human Experience - re "Biblical Jesus"
He did have a real human experience, because he came in the real form of a human being. His flesh was human. It died. He also experienced pain and temptation, also sickness (from the infirmities of others that He carried in His flesh). He lived as a human, was born, grew, learned, had to overcome the flesh (and its desires). He even experienced a moment - while in great pain and distress on the cross - where He thought God had forsaken Him.
He had God as His Father, that is true. But His flesh was human (inherited from His mother).
Peace to you!
I was going to make the same point, but you beat me to it!Eloi wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 4:50 pmAre not Elijah, Elisha, Paul or Peter human beings if they raised dead people with the power of God?William wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 4:27 pmI can do things that you cannot do and visa versa. Post #8Think he was ever sexually turned on by males or females? How about masturbating?tam wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 7:36 pm

Post #9[Replying to Miles in post #8]
If he was or wasn't (to either) - or did or didn't - would that make him any less human?
There is all sorts of sexuality in the world, including asexuality. All still human though.
Peace again to you!

Post #10Of course, just as he might deviate from other forms of normal behavior. However, if one is trying to point out how normal Jesus was then it would be expected he was sexually turned on by males or females, and that he masturbated. Right?tam wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 8:26 pm [Replying to Miles in post #8]
