How to become an angel!

Post by myth-one.com »

Two type of bodies are defined in the Bible, natural and spiritual (I Corinthians 15:44). Man is a natural bodied being and God and the angels are spiritual bodied beings (John 3:6). All men will die (Hebrews 9:27), and all spiritual bodied beings will live forever. (Luke 20:36).

The two testaments of the Bible are covenants or wills between God and mankind. The inheritance which heirs receive under either covenant is everlasting life. Each Bible testament describes the path to everlasting life for mankind under that particular covenant.

The path to eternal life under the first covenant was to never sin (Romans 6:23). However, there was a fault in the first testament in that all mankind sinned! (Romans 5:12) Since the first covenant contained a fault, God created a second or New Testament (Hebrews 3:6).

Under the New Testament Covenant, one must believe in Jesus as their Savior to gain everlasting life (John 3:16). Here is how that came to be:

The Word (a Spirit) was made flesh as the man Jesus Christ (John 1:14). Being a man (1Timothy 2:5), Jesus was included as a possible beneficiary under the original covenant between God and mankind.

In fact, Jesus became the only human to become an heir to immortality under the Old Testament Covenant! (1 Timothy 6:16).

His future inheritance belongs solely to Him, it is His possession, He owns it! And He is the only human that "hath immortality" as an inheritance.

But Jesus freely chooses to offer His inheritance as a gift to humans who believe in Him as their Savior. This is codified in the New Testament Covenant! (John 3:16)

But how can the one everlasting life which is Jesus' inheritance be distributed to more that one believer? Here's how that is justified in the scriptures:

Since many sinned due to one man (Adam), it is only fair that likewise many should be saved by the gift of everlasting life offered freely by the one man, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:15)

Once the Word was made flesh as Jesus, Jesus had no choice but to die His first death – as it is appointed unto man once to die. So Jesus’ death, while required, is not what saves us.

What saves us is that Jesus offers His just inheritance of everlasting spiritual life received by His living a sinless life under the Old Testament Covenant to those humans who accept Him as their Savior from the wages of their sins under the New Testament Covenant.

Believers receive their inheritance of everlasting life by being born again of the Spirit (John 3:6) at the second Coming (Romans 5:15).

Conclusion: Whosoever believeth shall be born again of the Spirit, as a spirit, into the spiritual Kingdom of God, at the Second Coming. When this occurs, we will become equal unto the angels.

That is how any human may become an angel. :D

If you want to debate the above explanation, please do so with scripture references to support your claims.

Here's a wild idea, why don't we use what the Bible suggests.

That is, there are two type of bodies -- natural and spiritual.
No one is disputing that. Yet just because that is a fact doesn't mean that flesh/a man can't live forever on earth as the Bible says is going to happen. That's my wild idea, lets use MORE of what the Bible says.
Scientists have concluded that human beings can currently live to a maximum of about one hundred and twenty years of age.
Do scientists make the rules or God?
"So all the days of Adam’s life amounted to 930 years." Gen 5:5
Just to add my $.02.....The Bible never said that man would live only to 120 years, even though science is correct in saying that we can't live more than that now, give or take. The 120 years mentioned I believe meant that that was the amount of time the earth had left until the Deluge. So the Bible is not in error when it tells us that Methuselah and others lived into their 900s. Neither is science in error now.

God made the longevity rules, and scientists discovered them about 3,000 years later.

The following is a list of people for which the Old Testament gives their age at death. The list is sequential from the first book of the Old Testament to the last, Genesis through Malachi:

Name---------Age at Death---------- Verse Reference

Adam ............... 930 .................. (Genesis 5:5)
Seth ................. 912 .................. (Genesis 5:8)
Enos ................ 905 .................. (Genesis 5:11)
Cainan ............. 910 .................. (Genesis 5:14)
Mahalaleel ........ 895 .................. (Genesis 5:17)
Jared ............... 962 ................... (Genesis 5:20)
Enoch .............. 365 ................... (Genesis 5:23)
Methuselah ...... 969 ................... (Genesis 5:27)
Lamech ........... 777 .................... (Genesis 5:31)

Note: God declares the limit of 120 years of life shall be imposed on human life -- in Genesis 6:3

Noah ............... 950 .................... (Genesis 9:29)
Shem .............. 600.................... (Genesis 11:11)
Arphaxad ........ 933 ................... (Genesis 11:12-13)
Salah .............. 433 ................... (Genesis 11:14-15)
Eber ............... 860 ................... (Genesis 11:16-17)
Peleg .............. 239 ................... (Genesis 11:18-19)
Reu ................. 239 ................... (Genesis 11:20-21)
Serug .............. 230 ................... (Genesis 11:22-23)
Nahor ............. 148 .................... (Genesis 11:24-25)
Terah .............. 205 .................... (Genesis 11:32)
Sarah .............. 127 .................... (Genesis 23:1)
Abraham ......... 175 .................... (Genesis 25:7)
Ishmael ........... 137 .................... (Genesis 25:17)
Jacob .............. 147 .................... (Genesis 47:28)
Joseph ............ 110 .................... (Genesis 50:26)
Levi ................ 137 .................... (Exodus 6:16)
Kohath ............ 133 .................... (Exodus 6:18)
Amram ............ 137 .................... (Exodus 6:20)
Aaron .............. 123 .................... (Numbers 33:39)
Moses ............. 120 .................... (Deuteronomy 34:7)
Joshua ............ 110 .................... (Joshua 24:29)
Job ................. 140+ .................. (Job 42:16)

People in General lived from 70-80 years when Psalm was written (Psalm 90:10).

Today in the USA, the average life expectancy is 79.05 years.

Observe the summary above and notice the pattern that occurs after God announces that He shall limit human life expectancy to one hundred and twenty years of age.

Notice that God did not simply say the word and everyone immediately started dying at or before the age of one hundred and twenty years. No, it happened over a period of time as indicated above, but rather quickly after the modification was made.

How did God perform this feat? Very possibly it was a mutation to the DNA as recently discovered by scientists. This would not have affected people who were already alive. In any event, once God implemented the limit through natural means, it very quickly took effect.

For a certainty Moses knew that this limit was placed on the life span of man three thousand years ago when he wrote the book of Genesis. Coincidentally, Moses lived to exactly one hundred and twenty years of age. Moses wrote this fact down in the scriptures and identified the one responsible for implementing the change:
In Genesis 6:3, as inspired by God, Moses wrote:
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

So you understand that God sets the limits on a man's life and you agree.
Yet when God says that limit can be set to forever you don't agree.
Psalm 115:16 "But the earth he has given to the sons of men."
Psalm 37:29 “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”

So you understand that God sets the limits on a man's life. Do you agree.
God designed the natural human body to be mortal.

God designed the spiritual body to be immortal.

And they were both designed perfectly for their purposes.

And yes, God set the limits on all types of beings.
2timothy316 wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 9:00 pm Yet when God says that limit can be set to forever you don't agree.
God never says that any natural bodied human being can live forever. He states that they all return to dust:
Ecclesiastes 3:19 wrote:For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
God says that all beasts die. You say God can make a natural bodied beast that lives forever.

If a beast can live forever, then God lied in Ecclesiastes 3:19.

But God cannot lie, so God cannot make a beast which lives forever!

I agree with God that all beasts die. Your debate should be with God who created us to die -- not with an insignificant human like me.

<======================================>

God defined the method(s) by which man can become immortal beings. The first method had a flaw, so a new method was allowed by God.

Yes, and to do so they must be born again of the Spirit as immortal spiritual beings. They will not possess the earth forever as natural bodied humans -- as all natural bodied humans will die!

OK, we agree that there are two type of bodies -- natural and spiritual.

Ecclesiastes 3:19-20 wrote:For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
Can we agree on that fact also?
I can agree.
But in the past, you claimed that a natural flesh bodied man can live forever on the earth.

If man is like every other natural bodied being in that they all die, man cannot live forever any where.

And if all natural beings die, as we have now agreed, then the only way for any man to live forever any where is to become the only other type of being -- a spiritual bodied being.

And the only way to become a spiritual bodied being is to be born of the Spirit:
John 3:6-7 wrote:That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Speaking of those humans who shall be born again of the Spirit into the Kingdom of God, Jesus states:
Luke 20:36 wrote:Neither can they die any more, for they are equal unto the angels...
Man was born with only two differences between him and God and the angels -- knowledge of good and evil and body type. Upon eating from the Tree of Knowledge, there is now only one difference between man and the angels.

That difference is body type -- natural versus spiritual!

Thus we must be born again of the Spirit as a spirit into the spiritual Kingdom of God!

Man can live forever. I keep quoting the scriptures that say so but you blatantly ignore them. You leave these scriptures out of your comments on purpose. Why won't you address these scriptures? Do you believe in the Bible or not?
Psalm 115:16 "But the earth he has given to the sons of men."
Psalm 37:29 “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”

Death is not the end of it all. Man does go to the dirt but those loyal to Jehovah God will not stay there.
“Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." - Isaiah 26:19
"He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth." - Isaiah 25:8
There is no need for death to be swallowed up in Heaven. There is only one place this happens, Earth. Death of mankind will be removed from Earth, the Bible says so.

"Neither can they die any more, for they are equal unto the angels... "
Equal to angels as far having lasting life but NOT spiritual beings. All the scriptures above support this.

There is no reason to make the dead live again if they are just going to die again.

The phrases such as "dead will live", corpses will rise up", "death come to life", etc, say nothing about any man living forever!

Jesus has already done these things.

<========================>

Can we now also agree that every other human who has ever lived and died will live again?

You probably believe that -- I do.

Why resurrect a righteous person just so they will die again? Death will be no more. The Bible is clear, "He [God] will swallow up death forever....The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth." Is 25:8. Death will be removed from his people in all the Earth.
Do you accept Isaiah 25:8 as true?

Not every person who has died will live again.
"The wicked one will be no more.” (Ps. 37:10)
"The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; the one who disobeys the Son will not see life." (John 3:36)
