Mother Teresa

-
Rome's poster child, Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu (a.k.a. Mother Teresa) is a terrible disappointment. It turns out Teresa was a remarkable actor. Her public image bore no resemblance whatsoever to the secret life of her inner being. Below are some quotes taken from her own private letters; and excerpts of her statements from other sources. You be the judge: role model or role player, believer or make-believer?

"Only pray that I keep up this joy exteriorly. I deceive people with this weapon-- even my Sisters."

"When I try to raise my thoughts to Heaven, there is such convicting emptiness that those very thoughts return like sharp knives and hurt my very soul. How painful is this unknown pain-- I have no faith."

"I am told God loves me; and yet the reality of darkness & coldness & emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul."

"Now Father-- since 49 or 50 this terrible sense of loss-- this untold darkness-- this loneliness, this continual longing for God-- which gives me pain deep down in my heart-- Darkness is such that I really do not see neither with my mind nor with my reason-- the place of God in my soul is blank-- There is no God in me-- when the pain of longing is so great-- I just long & long for God-- and then it is that I feel-- He does not want me-- He is not there-- God does not want me-- Sometimes-- I just hear my own heart cry out-- "My God" and nothing else comes-- the torture and pain I can't explain"

"My smile is a great cloak that hides a multitude of pains."

"The damned of Hell suffer eternal punishment because they experiment with the loss of God. In my own soul, I feel the terrible pain of this loss. I feel that God does not want me, that God is not God; and that He does not really exist."

"If there be God . . please forgive me."

"Of course I convert. I convert you to be a better Hindu or a better Muslim or a better Protestant. Once you've found God, it's up to you to decide how to worship him" (Mother Teresa Touched Other Faiths, Associated Press, 9/7/97).

"We never try to convert those who receive [aid from Missionaries of Charity] to Christianity but in our work we bear witness to the love of God's presence and if Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, or agnostics become for this better men-- simply better --we will be satisfied. It matters to the individual what church he belongs to. If that individual thinks and believes that this is the only way to God for her or him, this is the way God comes into their life-- his life. If he does not know any other way and if he has no doubt so that he does not need to search then this is his way to salvation."

The April 7-13, 1990, issue of Radio Times tells the story of Mother Teresa sheltering an old Hindu priest. "She nursed him with her own hands and helped him to die reconciled with his own gods."

FYI: Christian missionaries are not supposed to be helping pagans die reconciled to their own gods. They're supposed to be helping pagans die reconciled to the one true God by means of Christ's crucifixion (John 3:14-18). Nor are they supposed to be converting pagans to become better Hindus or better Muslims. They're supposed to be converting pagans to become better Christians. (Matt 28:18-20)

Christ was abandoned at most for just the 6 hours he was on the cross giving his life for the sins of the world. During the remainder of his time on Earth, there was never a moment when Christ was out of touch with his Father (John 8:29, John 11:41-42). In contrast, Teresa felt orphaned for virtually the entire five decades she was in India; i.e. 438,000 hours.

Teresa's experience was extremely abnormal for someone professing themselves one of Christ's followers.

â— John 14:23 . . If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Teresa's complained thusly: "The place of God in my soul is blank-- There is no God in me-- when the pain of longing is so great-- I just long & long for God-- and then it is that I feel-- He does not want me-- He is not there-- God does not want me"

The rational conclusion to draw from Teresa's 438,000 hours, from John 14:23, and from the rather doleful statement above, is that far from being loyal to Christ, she was having nothing to do with him.

No true follower of Christ should ever feel that God doesn't want them because it is the Spirit's pleasure to ensure such a tragedy never happens.

â— Rom 8:16 . . The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

The Greek word translated "testifies" means to corroborate. Well; that never happened for Teresa. She went to her death seriously wondering if God was ever on her side at all. That's an awful state of mind to be in one's last moments.

â— 2Cor 13:5 . . Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? -- unless indeed you are disqualified.

If Christ could feel abandoned when he had certainty, we must allow Mother Teresa the same pain. She has opened her heart, as did Saint Augustine in his Confessions, and she is to be respected for her painful honesty.

I have the greatest admiration and respect for her. Perhaps we should remember
Luke 6: 41 "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"

I don't for a moment think she was abandoned by her God; her unworthiness made her feel so, and that indicates abject humility. But in this odd discussion I feel that Mother Teresa's great flaw was the Catholic faith she was accidentally born into. Her huge service to the poor would, for some, pale into insignificance beside that crime.

I deny that this sentence proves He felt abandoned since it is the first line of Ps 22. Psalms were not titled so a person referenced a psalm by its first line and anyone hearing the reference would know it was for the whole psalm, not just the first line. Ps 22 ends as a triumphant victory cry of good over evil,

Ps 22:29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.
30 Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness,
declaring to a people yet unborn:

He has done it!
PCE Theology as I see it...

We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.

This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

Mother Teresa - the caregiver.

This is a very interesting forum.

I believe that Mother Teresa was a caring woman who worked hard in promoting the Vatican's social media image.

However, the Popes and Mother Teresa's of the world - They do not work and produce an income. They are Social Workers who take monies from all the other Hard Working Peoples of the world and they fling - pitch it - chuck it - hurl it - Lob and TOSS it out to other people.

The Roman Catholic Organization's goal is to be an eternal Socialist Service of eternity. Taking much of the money that they skim, rake and get off of the top. They live lives of Stardom, Glory, Grandeur, Majesty, Superstar, Magnificence, Radiance, Celebrity Lifestyles.

This is their Entire Government PROPAGANDIZED Career, their Job, and duties that they do.

The pope and Mother Teresa's of the world portray caring, loving and gentle, kindly people but they are just GOVERNMENT Social Workers, Involved in Social Services. There are millions of hard-working people who have Jobs and take their Hard Earned money and give it away to help the poor. They care for and love people just as much as the Roman Catholic Socialist Services Community.

The only difference is that the Non-Catholics do not try and live like stars - With SELF WORSHIP Government Sponsorship Glory, Grandeur, Majesty, Superstar, Magnificence and Radiance and Celebrity Lifestyles.
The Catholic Community and GOVERNMENT only come out of their closet when there is a camera or news flash or propaganda publicity in their favor. They don't have to work or live public lives and have eXposure.

They are PROPAGANDIZED Stars - You only see their glory, lights, and Radiance from a long, long, long way far away distance. You never really get to know them, they are just worshiped and see them from a heavenly viewpoint, from a long far away distance after a long time has passed and they are long gone, out of sight or heading out the PROPAGANDIZED door, to privacy, protection, and security -

I believe that Mother Teresa did work hard and did good things with the taxpayer's monies as an objective social worker. But why magnify a social worker to the extent that she is " PRE JUDGED " as a saint who is in Heaven today.

She was canonized as a saint on September 4th, by The Pontiff Francis,

The Vatican Primate, Pontiff Francis only knows that Mother Teresa was a superstar whose personal life was so well hidden from the world that she can be considered a perfect saint.

Only because she was a star. with a hidden personal life ...........................
