The women stood accused of adultery and the crowd demanded that Jesus say whether or not she should be stoned. He said to them â€œWhoever is without sin among you, cast the first stoneâ€�.

Suddenly a rock came flying from the back of the crowd and struck the woman hard in the forehead. She immediately dropped down dead. Jesus looked down at her for a moment then raised his eyes and cried out in a loud voice:

â€œMO-ther!â€�
