Post #983This reminds me of the time I lived in Florida and got myself a Gambian pouch rat from the keys. I'm a biologist, I've done surveying, so I know how to find the nests. I raided one, figuring the mother wouldn't miss just one pink.
Gambian pouch rats are huge. Now, at the time, owning the things was illegal, though I believe that's changed. Here is an example of a Gambian pouch rat.
I bought mine a harness and walked it down the street. Lots of people questioned me. I just said it was a Scandinavian truffle terrier. You can't do this sort of thing anymore now that everyone has all human knowledge at the tips of their smartphones, but I got away with it and it was pretty amazing.
