I've seen it before. The one about the gifted kid pushing instead of pulling, I take in a completely different way, being the gifted kid (at least, if you go by the tests).
From where I sit, this is a cartoon about how people are
seen as more intelligent just because they break rules, eschew taboos, and just plain refuse to do things the way everyone else does. People are monkeys, so they quickly pick up on the reward that's there to be reaped and blindly break rules instead of blindly obeying them, which has far worse consequences.
In the cartoon, the idiot whose natural inclination is to blindly break rules is rewarded with entrance into the part of society that constantly congratulates each other for being smarter than the sheeple. The door isn't to an actual school in my mind, which is where it departs from the cartoon's intent, obviously.
As a practical example, I know one person who's always bragging about how he's smarter than I am. One thing he goes on about is how speed limits and traffic lights are stupid and only the stupid sheeple follow them. He has about two accidents a year. I've had two in my life, and neither of them were my fault. He's the one everyone thinks is smart, always hailed by others as being smart, but I would seriously swallow cyanide if he had the higher IQ.
