Post #2I'm not sure if you have any desire for a new Bible, but the NIV Quickview Bible is illustrated with infographics. Post #4There's some interesting stuff about those 'thrones' here. Once you start to wonder why an angel would look like 'a flaming, rotating ring covered in eyes', it becomes clearer that there's a bit of an overlap between some more mystical jewish sects like the Merkavah school, and traditional reading of the Old Testament.
These days, some people practically worship cars, so perhaps this is a case of plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose?

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.
