Weird and confusing things non-theists claim about atheism

One of the first lessons that recruits into the Atheist Infiltration Squad go through in their combat training is to overcome Fear of Woo.

"Everything is made of Nothing! Indeterminacy means that nothing is sure! Beware the Holographic universe."..... "Get up and stop whimpering...I want your DOE." .... "Remember, you maggotts...whatever is happening at Quantum level, the world of Physics still works as reliably as it did for Newton. Now get to the mess room, it's chow time!"~ TRANSPONDER {SOURCE}
I wasn't aware that atheism was so organized as to have a creed in which atheist's can follow. :)

William: I think it obvious that non-theists - specifically atheists - tend to conflate material science with atheism and developed a type of atheist creed using material science as a support structure for their developed beliefs.
Truth be observed, those who naturally lack belief in gods are Agnostics.
Atheists have taken it a step further by introducing ways in which to support their choice to willfully lack belief in gods, [and everything else associated with gods] to 'hold the position' as if it were somehow relevant to do so. They call this a 'type' of atheism - "hard atheism" - and attempt to convince others that the default nature of the human being is "Atheist" ["human babies are atheist because the lack belief in gods" - is a common atheist argument] when in actual fact it is more likely "Agnostic" is the default - the preliminary position re human babies...

Atheism results from a LACK of religious indoctrination. Non belief in fairies, gods, goblins, demons, angels and other supernatural claptrap is the default position. No one is taught to not believe in nonsense; rather one has to be taught to believe in it. It's like racism or any other prejudice. It has to be taught.

Children are born atheists. They are not born believing in God. That has to be taught.

As far as I am concerned, giving agnosticism more meaning than it is due is just another way of trying to sneak woo in through the back door.

We keep having this exact conversation. "Of course, science can't be used to show that God exists. You just need to be open to the other evidence!"

Are you interested in discussing why you find these things weird and confusing and how you (and presumably others) might avoid the confusion in the future? Or is this thread just to help the rest of us build a kind of informal profile of the things that confuse you in particular?

Of course!

That is why I placed the tread in this forum. :)

Without the chat, it serves this purpose as well.

It is also a useful place to gather the similar data and keep it all together. :)

No, no, no. We don';t neen the Music of the spheres these days. The universe was not built for our convenience. Most of it is trying to kill us. It has no divine plan, no uplifting message, no homely advice and no refunds in case of dissatisfaction. We are on our own and battling to survive because that is the hand that evolution dealt us.
