Arthritis supplements

Does anyone here find good results by taking glucosamine, chondroitin and such? The reviews look favourable on Amazon for various ones.
I have so far avoided supplements but my back and knees are debilitating now. I cannot climb stairs without pain in my knees. Doctors only give pain relief which has side effects. I wondered if I can do more about it to feel fitter.

Hi
Better. But I think gentle stretching exercises and daily short walks are more the key. I am unsure whether the supplements are useful.

My own reason for trying any supplement and stopping, is if it produces gastric problems.
It is always a balance.
