Is the Bible the "Word of God"?

That is not what your jesus teaches.

Some people don't respond to love. In fact some people take advantage of it. Certainly love should provoke a man to good works but this is often not the case. Some people must be corralled by fear. It is the only music they will dance to. Love is the preferred method, but if that doesn't work the rod will.

Have you ever heard the old saying, "we can do this the easy way or we can do it the hard way"? The easy way is preferred, but the hard way will get the job done as well.

Good to see that 66% of posters say the bible is NOT the word of god!!!


Bad news: 33% STILL believe it is, even though they can NOT justify all the atrocities in that "Holy" book!


In the US, the number of non-religious people has more than doubled from 14.3 million in 1990 to 29.4 million in 2001; their proportion has grown from just eight percent of the total in 1990 to over fourteen percent in 2001. So there IS hope. EDUCATION is what's making the difference!! Hopefully this trend continues at an Increased speed!!

If you are wrong and there is a God then you will be at his mercy in the end. Of course you dismiss that but you have no basis for your dismissal.

First, I have noted "yes".

But my vote holds specifications, as under all other considerations of God, the words can't imply anything less than perfection.

So, well knowing that the Bible contains much contradictions, I suggest still, with the imperfect human hand on it, by these troubles and other, that "a kind of core" still loves up to the Bible that has (by roundtrip) brought us God in the first place.

The roundtrip is God's word to human beings, a bit tumbled to the mind receiving it, then the word of God sends human beings back to God and God's Heaven. Cool?
