Why did Jesus have to be male?

Why did Jesus have to be male?
I assume he is though some may debate it if the above thread is any indication about what words mean and what terms were used then as they are now.

But why did God (whatever gender it is or isn't) decide to make a male version of himself/son (whichever you choose to believe)?
Why couldn't Jesus have been a female? Would the sacrifice he's said to have made been any more of less successful?
Was Jesus needed to be male in order to get respect and attention? If so, could this be why God is male?
What was the reason why Jesus was and had to be male?
Or was if simply random?
Have a great, potentially godless, day!

No, not really.
Sorry, I should have said it would be like preparing cancer for someones children for the iniquity of their fathers.

I disagree, God did not have to intervene for Adam to have children; in fact God needed to do nothing at all for all the sad consequences of Adam's actions to roll out. If Adam and Eve had chosen to remain childles their sin would have died with them. By having children they set in motion humanity's sad eventually.... all by themselves,

It'd take God getting upset at every little thing we do.

Odd how we're asked to forgive, and God holds him eternal grudges.

Exactly. And imagine the audacity of Adam and Eve daring to have children after God told them in Genesis 1:28 to:
“Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
The nerve of them to obey God!

I disagree. God did not inflict Adam and Eve with sickness and death, they inflicted that on themselves. If someone jumps off a cliff and they die you don't blame the cliff.

If someone is pushed off a cliff, for whatever reason, and they die, the pusher is to blame. Without God actually intervening after Adam and Eve disobeyed, they should have continued to live without sickness, pain or death.

Not according to the bible narrative. God told them what would happen, that didn't cause their death any more than a doctor announcing that a patient's illness is terminal, causes their illness. Nobody pushed Adam and Eve to do what they did, they were not forced against their will to do something they did not wish to do.

Wasn't it God who created the conditions for illness and death?

Or is there some force greater'n God's ability to prevent it?

No, according to the tale God did actually cause it all happen as his response to their actions. All for mere disobedience, and he also inflicted the penalty on everyone who came after. How barbaric is that!

Actually, they were 'pushed'. The hapless couple were deceived by the serpent. God could have got involved, but nah, he just sat back and probably thought "It'll be alright". Pathetic behaviour on the part of an allegedly loving and caring deity.
