Assuming heaven is real and people go to it based on your own individual belief:
What goes to heaven?
Is it your body, your mind or your spirit?
What does this look like?
Do you go as you are when you die, or where you were at your prime* (if your prime isn't when you die)?
Once you get to your heaven in the means in which you believe, do you change or stay the same as when you get there?
Cite biblical references for your POV for comparison if you have it.
*Prime here meaning when you were at you best and strongest mentally, physically and spiritually.

Re: Heavenly body
Post #2Bible doesn’t say much about it, but here are few scriptures that I think give some idea.Youkilledkenny wrote: What goes to heaven?

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God's angels in heaven.
Matt. 22:30
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body.
1 Cor. 15:44
And by what the Bible tells about angels, they seem to be some kind of extradimensional beings that can have physical form and also be in higher level of existence, and can perhaps have the form they want.

Let's get plausible:
One way the stories of heaven could be true is if God downloaded our soul - aka software to a Heaven simulation.
Or Hell simulation.
It a practical way of rewarding those promises.

Re: Heavenly body
Post #5JW got it right. People go to heaven...except they do not go anywhere but they rather enter the heavenly state of holy, loving communion via a telepathic connection of communication of knowledge and emotional bonding, a state called being married to GOD. Then we go where ever we want...the universe is our playground although I suspect a grand gathering of all heavenly spirits in one place will happen suggesting the question, if we do not manifest our bodies, how many angels will fit on the head of a pin?Youkilledkenny wrote:

What goes to heaven?
Our personal being, our spirit, is resurrected to its original nature and like those who never sinned, the angels, will have the ability to manifest any body we desire. Is it your body, your mind or your spirit?
Like any angel, the descriptions of which are mostly symbolic, not realistic. The angels that sang for the shepherds at His birth chose those bodies to be seen. Others chose bodies that look different due to the nature of the job they are doing for GOD or for the person they are becoming visible for. What does this look like?
We were all created in perfection and grew to intellectual and emotional maturity before we ever sinned. Our sin warped, corrupted and stunted our mental and emotional capacity as humans but we will be restored to our original state by the resurrection. There is no "in our prime" attributed to a human because all humans are in their sin or shortly coming out of sin which destroys the possibility of "primeness" meaning anything about them. Nothing in the resurrected state can be characterized by anything here on earth, this prison for mental defectives and emotional sociopaths.Do you go as you are when you die, or where you were at your prime* (if your prime isn't when you die)?
You only get there by being perfect, able to share the marriage union with GOD and everyone else.Once you get to your heaven in the means in which you believe, do you change or stay the same as when you get there?
PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

Yes WHAT, unless of course the physical body digs its way out of the ground, or gathers up its own ashes (or the like) and travels north. What goes to heaven? No what, "who". The answer is the person.
So ashes DO gather themselves up? Or does the body "surpasses all known physical forms" to become a formless form?s it your body, your mind or your spirit? Yes.
Please supply proof that not one of the several billion people who have ever existed has not seen one. Or is that an opinion? If so, please supply supporting evidence for this opinion.Nobody knows what a spirit body looks like, no human has ever seen one.

Married to God.....where does that concept come from. Maybe God's not my type? Seriously though, this seems to indicate something 'more' than simple communion. Please explain "married to God", what it means and what we can expect from it.
So JW didn't get it right. Maybe partially right? Does "going somewhere" only mean physically and not mentally?JW got it right. Why isn't it in the original form to begin with? Why would anyone/anything want to move away from the 'original nature' as described that has any functioning mental capacity. In other words, if it was so great to begin with, whey would anyone/thing move from that if this 'nature' was properly represented?our spirit, is resurrected to its original nature
Please explainthe angels, will have the ability to manifest any body we desire
So we're all 'up a creek without a paddle' because no one is perfect. You only get there by being perfect

Post #9The bible say "Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom" so he left in a physical body (or else his disciple that he was saying goodbye to wouldn't have seen him) logically he entered heaven in a heavenly body.postroad wrote: [Replying to post 4 by JehovahsWitness]
