The most important miracle

Post by nobspeople »

What do you think is the most important historical 'miracle' in the bible and why?

Some example to consider:
Virgin birth
Raising of Lazarus
Feeding with the bread and fishes
Burning bush
Global flood
Resurrection
Various physical healings (deaf mute, blind men, sick woman, etc)

Have you had a miracle you'd care to share? If not, why do you think you haven't?
Have a great, potentially godless, day!

Right....awkward when it's not me using it but it's the title of a book or film. Can omitting a few letters do or are books and films banned if they offend?

No normal explanation possible or needed.
For an atheist getting prayers answered seems in christian context to be a Miracle in itself.

Praise ?

The biblical book of Salomo is full of pornography.
So are certain bible passages of the book of Salomo forbidden to be quoted here ???

It is only a miracle (in anything but metaphorical context) in terms of a faith -claim. A cosmic being granted an atheists' prayer. Apart from supposing God likes atheists as much as anyone else, the premier hypothesis is that these things happen to everyone at times (but more often not) whether they have this or that religion or none. In other words, Miracles' in the Theist - magical sense, is not what they are. They really are coincidences, no matter how extreme they sometimes seem to be.

But we already knew that, didn't we? ;)

Praise? I reverence and praise the amazing nature we live in by wanting to know and understand it. But if I want an aural and visceral prayer to this amazing nature, it is done through Music. and if you want to hear me pray, google Janacek Glagiolitic mass 1 (Uvod).

Hrrrmph !!!

Even christians have to avoid all kinds of loopholes to get one little prayer answered, if the OP of this thread is right:

I believe that it was observed on another thread that the Gospel guarantee that whatever the believer asks in faith - even as small as a mustard seed, even for a mountain to remove into the sea, That God will do. does not include the small print. Not even in the RSV footnotes.

Interesting that it is unsure if or not the biblical creation myths count as miracles.
If yes, wouldnt they absolutely be a close runner?

They would. But the fact the earth is here and we are on it is not the most important thing. For the Christian, the most important thing is getting straight with God to get the Platinum - class afterlife, and that means that the resurrection is the most important miracle, if not the most miraculous miracle.

. . . Seconded by the Second Coming Miracle, which had yet not come but will, according to prophecy.

I get it!
