There appear to be differing beliefs in rather or not purgatory and or hell exists together, or independently.
For discussion:
Is there a hell AND purgatory?
How does your belief system discuss this and how does it justify it being right and others being wrong?
Purgatory. Hell. Both. One or the other. Neither. What's up?

Post #2By what I know, Bible does not have word purgatory. Bible speaks about Death, Hades and Hell.nobspeople wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 3:00 pm ...

...The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:12-15
And apparently Death and Hades are places where dead people are, until the final judgment where it is decided do they go to Hell (Gehenna) or not.
