Listening to a podcast, the spoke about guardian angels (the third man factor). For discussion:
1) Do you believe that guardian angels exists as beings that protect individual humans?
2) Or is it simply the mind interacting with the universe, no actual god provided angels?
3) Or is it something else entirely?
4) Is there any biblical evidence to support the idea of guardian angels?

Re: Guardian angels
Post #2DOES EVERYONE HAVE A "GUARDIAN ANGEL"?
The bible* does speak or angels that God uses to help, protect and communicate with humans. That said it does not convey the idea that each human is assigned a particular angel at birth, that protects them from accidents and misfortune.

* I am ONLY mentioning the bible to show what Christianity says in line with subforum guidelines, not to prove that a statement or story therein is true. I am not presenting the bible as authorative or proof of truth and have no intention to add an argument to that end in this subforum See LINKS for details: viewtopic.php?p=213491#p213491

Their activities are controversial, but I believe their stated goals are to help individual humans. Of course, these angels are physical beings. Evidence of supernatural beings assigned to us as individuals, never seen any verifiable evidence of such. It may provide comfort to some to believe in them, but that's not evidence of their existence.

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.

Re: Guardian angels
Post #41) No. Based on 'exists' meaning 'in the physical universe'.nobspeople wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 1:27 pm 1) Do you believe that guardian angels exists as beings that protect individual humans?

2) and 3) Not sure what 'it' is in this context. Is it 'protection'? In which case, any near miss that someone experiences (that might be attributed to a guardian angel) is much more likely to be caused by nothing more than luck or subconscious caution.
4) There may well be such stories in the Bible, but that doesn't mean that guardian angels exist.

Post #5[Replying to Diagoras in post #4]
2 & 3 - the 'it' I was referring to was the idea itself of guardian angels
