How much importance would a god put on a single word in a ritual? We? I? Come on. Surely, god knows what's meant, yeah?
And now they're 'invalid'?!? To whom?
For discussion:
1) Are these types of rituals pointless to god?
2) Shouldn't the 'meaning' of it mean more than a single misspoken word?
3) Would god hold that mistake over someone (a baptized person doesn't know the wrong 'word' was used and now they're denied eternal peace?!?)?
4) Are these types of rituals pointless to god (asked twice because yeah....)?
1 word ridiculousness?

Re: 1 word ridiculousness?
Post #2It's remarkable how much importance is placed on the correct word or pronunciation in rituals. Remember how Obama had to do the Presidential swearing -in a secon time because he slipped up the first time? It's almost like there are magical laws at stake here and you have to get it exactly right or the magical laws won't work.
That may sound silly but just stories of Wizardry betray just how much can depend in Doing it exactly right. It's like magical (or dare one say it, divine) laws will not (like electrical connections) work unless you connect it up correctly. "Levio-sa" or you'll blow all the lights!

Post #3I would think an purposeful 'mistake' would be worse than an 'ops' mistake. But it seems if the exact working isn't right it's null and void.TRANSPONDER wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 5:57 am It's remarkable how much importance is placed on the correct word or pronunciation in rituals. Why not force all of them to take place in the original tongue (for those which this would apply)?
Have a great, potentially godless, day!
