Folks, sin, and the holy thing there

From Post 44, here:
EarthScienceguy wrote: Yea, I get it. You wanted your sin of choice whatever that might be. It will not make sense it will be a drive and desire to know Christ when the Holy Spirit convicts a person of their sin. The Holy Spirit has not convicted you of the sin in your life and He may never convict you of the sin in your life. But until that happens you cannot and you will not become a Chrisitan.
For debate:

What the heck is that all about, and can any of y'all put any truth to it.

Mostly the putting truth to it.

You just can't fathom the shame I felt when I found out little Jimmy there was wearing him a poly-cotton blend t-shirt.
Not to mention what was written on it!

I hope he's passing on the importance of being a religious busy body.

We don't need us no heathens round these here parts.
America seems way in the dark ages and needs to catch up with the rest of the world.

Well, that seems a little harsh and illegal.
All them hens that know me are clear on this'n - I'll be deciding me what decisions need to be made about their health.
I do not know what you are doing with those hens and I do not want to. You can keep that to yourself.

I don't know what this means.

That was my question what is he passing on.

How are you defining heathen?

And biblical.

Hens, chicks, wimminfolk. I do a lot of work with unwed mothers.
You can keep that to yourself.
If only so many Christians felt the same.

I don't know what this means.
It points to the hypocrisy of picking and choosing which biblical edict to follow.

That was my answer.

Always entertaining. But the particular one of the invisible herd of elephants in the Debating -chamber is... Does Christianity reference OT rules or not?. And we know the answer that just leads to another Questions. "Only when it suits them. When it doesn't, Jesus made everything New". Which translates in the Theist -English Dictionary and phrase book "Doctrinally permissible cherry -picking".

The Q no. 2 being answered "What Jesus specifically endorsed is Binding; what he didn't is open to Interpretation". Like 'Slavery' actually doesn't mean Slavery, though of course there are confusing passages like 'I came not to destroy the law but to fulfil it."

Which I now understand, but that's a whole other discussion.

And biblical.
So you are in favor of stoning homosexuals then.
Or are you not in favor so stoning homosexuals?

It is your holy book that instructs to kill homosexuals. Joey is not bound by such edicts and does not stone homosexuals.

Leviticus 20:13 ESV
If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:26-28 ESV
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

It amazes me that you know about this, yet question Joey if he practices old testimant punishments. Why would he? How odd!
You can give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day, or you can teach a man to pray for fish and he will starve to death.

I blame man for codifying those rules into a book which allowed superstitious people to perpetuate a barbaric practice. Rules that must be followed or face an invisible beings wrath. - KenRU

It is sad that in an age of freedom some people are enslaved by the nomads of old. - Marco

If you are unable to demonstrate that what you believe is true and you absolve yourself of the burden of proof, then what is the purpose of your arguments? - brunumb

Why do you think this is bad? What are you basing your assessment on whether this is moral or not?
