Brotherly love

Post by nobspeople »

Reading through the below post, I came across the below:
"The most common post-millennial view is that the gospel will spread to the ends of the earth and bring about a time of peace on earth that comes from brotherly love among all people. "

It seems to me that there isn't a whole lotta love within christianity for them selves, much less others. Groups are always fighting amongst themselves 'you're wrong and I'm right' for example. I've been to more than one church to see cliques, gossip, married couples sleeping with other married couples, and on and on. I've seen churches come together and apply hate to other groups through mostly nonviolent means (though violent means aren't off the table, as history tells us).

For discussion:
If christians can't love everyone now, how will this above quote (if true) ever be possible? What has to happen in order to make this possible? Or is it simply another 'feel good' belief meant to appease and continue to fill the coffers of the local religious organization?

Have a great, potentially godless, day!
