Is Jesus already here? What determines your answer?
Will you be going to Israel to see him or is he coming to your town?
Some people today claim to be the Messiah. How do you know they aren't?

Post #11Unless of course it's the Fourth of July in the grand U.S. of A. Or sadly, wartime in the Ukraine. Humans can create all kinds of stuff that looks, feels and sounds like thunder. In fact, we can far surpass it. Ancient authors had no idea of how weak their analogies would be based on the technology to come. Probably because they thought Jesus' return was around the corner. It wasn't and there is no reason to believe it is or ever will be or ever will occur.bjs1 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 11:40 pm If that is our criterion then asking, “Is Jesus already here” would be like standing outside on a dark night in which there has been no lights in the sky of any kind and then asking, “Did lightening just strike.” The answer, of course, being, “No. If lightening had struck then you would have seen it. It’s not something a normal person is going to make a mistake about. Since you have not seen lightening in the sky, it is safe to say that there was none.”

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.
