Is Jesus already here?

Is Jesus already here? What determines your answer?
Will you be going to Israel to see him or is he coming to your town?

Some people today claim to be the Messiah. How do you know they aren't?

I've heard some claim he already came and went!

For example by:

Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There,’ don’t believe it. For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones. “Behold, I have told you beforehand. If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ don’t go out; ‘Behold, he is in the inner chambers,’ don’t believe it. For as the lightning comes forth from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Matt. 24:23-27

So if jesus WAS here you wouldn't believe him even if he said he was Jesus.
Gee, now what?

Why should we bother ourselves with it since he didn't do all that much the first time he was here? Okay, he might have healed a few lepers and blind people, but then he could have eliminated leprosy and blindness altogether. As for his preaching, we are knee deep in preachers now and still none the better for it. So, if he was here already he would have to make a much better show of being the son of God and all that stuff than he did last time. Maybe, like God the father, he prefers to hide.

Could this be him?
Jesus Christ was born again in March 1963, in Loxton, South Australia. Loxton is a small town of less than 4,000 residents on the south side of the Murray River. It is known for its pioneer settlement museum, an annual athletics carnival with sizeable cash prices, and for being the second birthplace of Jesus Christ.

Love your sense of humor. Yeah...he did nothing when he was here. Maybe that's him in England. Lol

Great signs and wonders to deceive people eh?

"Behold I have told you beforehand"

Yeah, he's talking about himself.

Gee, now what?
Being that nothing's happened that would seem to signal 'jesus is/was here and it's a big deal', I suspect you'd go about your daily life :?

Perhaps we need to establish some criteria for irrefutably determining if someone claiming to be Jesus was actually him. Any ideas?

One possible criterion was mentioned in the passage that 1213 quoted in post 3. That being, “For as the lightning comes forth from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

So the criterion would be that, unlike the first coming of Jesus (if you believe in such things), the return of Jesus will have to be an undeniable and unmistakable event.

If that is our criterion then asking, “Is Jesus already here” would be like standing outside on a dark night in which there has been no lights in the sky of any kind and then asking, “Did lightening just strike.” The answer, of course, being, “No. If lightening had struck then you would have seen it. It’s not something a normal person is going to make a mistake about. Since you have not seen lightening in the sky, it is safe to say that there was none.”
