Listening to a podcast with Adam Blai (link about him below if interested) this week about the above noted topic, it made me wonder more about possession.
Seems possessions of 'spirits' isn't just a 'christian thing' (my words), as it happens throughout the world. While most claims don't seem to fit the category (aka the church recognized) possessions, there are those that do fit. I have had a very similar experience a couple years ago, so the concept isn't lost on me.
For discussion:
Are possessions of spirits/demons real?
Have you experienced or seen any?
If they aren't real, what do you think they are?

Re: Possessions
Post #2I think it depends on what is meant with spirit. Bible tells for example that God is spirit and love. So, if one is ruled by love, it could be said he is "possessed" by love. Evil spirit can be for example fear, and when person is possessed by fear, it makes person act certain way. I think it is possible that there are other spirits that can similarly affect on how person acts.nobspeople wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 8:58 am ...

Post #3The lack of christian participation seems to indicate that possessions aren't real and or don't exist.

Post #4You've had one response and that from a Christian. Odd conclusion to reach based on that fact.nobspeople wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 8:30 am The lack of christian participation seems to indicate that possessions aren't real and or don't exist.

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.

Post #6Why ask questions, if you block answers you don't like? To me that means your goal is to preach your own truth, not genuine debate.nobspeople wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 10:31 am ...
