Conspiracy? Fantasy? Maybe. But how would one know if something like this were to occur?
For discussion:
How would Billy Bob christian know if something like this were to happen, that it wasn't real? How could Billy Bob decipher 'real' from 'fake'? What makes YOU, believer, better than Billy Bob christian that may believe in such a thing?

Post #2Just as a side note, this story is a bit old---almost seven years---having come out in Oct of 2015. One would would think that if it was at all significant something would have happened by now. Post #3The story isn't as old as the concept of trickery. Which is what this thread is intended to discuss.Miles wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 2:36 pmJust as a side note, this story is a bit old---almost seven years---having come out in Oct of 2015. AMOS 3:7
For the Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets
Anything short of that, however convincing (be that through manmade visual illusion, or demonic led miraculous events, no matter how impressive), will not fool the people of God.The ONLY clearly supernatural event left for this final part of the last days is the return of Christ and that will be unmistakable as it will be in response to an all out attck on Gods' people and be marked by the destruction of the wicked, the vindication of Jehovah's name and the end of the entire world system.

Post #5The larger the circle of conspirators, the more difficult it is to keep a conspiracy secret. The technological and engineering requirements of the project they're describing would require such a huge circle of conspirators that it borders on the impossible. Not only must none of the conspirators belong to any of the major religions, but even the selection process would have to be secret from the religious that were excluded.nobspeople wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 2:15 pmHow would Billy Bob christian know if something like this were to happen, that it wasn't real? Successful secret conspiracies don't require a large group of conspirators. Conspiracies that are large and successful don't rely on secrecy.
In a broad sense, being able to estimate and compare probabilities is what allows one to separate plausible from implausible. Not all plausible stories are true, but this one's too implausible to pass even a vague sniff test.

Re: Project Blue Beam
Post #6That seems a rather hasty judgement. It's been nowhere near 75 years.
World events since 1914 harmonize with the prophecies uttered by Jesus Christ and thus prove that Jesus has been in power since then. For over seven decades now, the people of this 20th-century generation living since 1914 have experienced the fulfillment of events listed in Jesus’ prophecy found in Matthew chapter 24. Therefore, this period of time is nearing its end, with the restoration of Paradise on earth close at hand.

There is no reason to think this trend will ever end, well, at least not before the eventual extinction of humans.Unfulfilled Watch Tower Society predictions
Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society publications have made a series of predictions about Christ's Second Coming and the advent of God's Kingdom, each of which has gone unfulfilled. Almost all the predictions for 1878, 1881, 1914, 1918 and 1925 were later reinterpreted as a confirmation of the eschatological framework of the Bible Student movement and Jehovah's Witnesses, with many of the predicted events viewed as having taken place invisibly. Further expectations were held for the arrival of Armageddon in 1975, but resulted in a later apology to members from the society's leadership.

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.

Re: Project Blue Beam
Post #8This is true, but I doubt one can misinterpret the end of the world.
Basically unless we see Jesus destroy the world system our position is ... whatever we'll be looking at won't be the real deal. Any "project bluebeam" projection won't be a matter of predicting what comes next it will be a matter of understanding what is happening; understanding what we are looking at.
Basically, if most people see a miraculous inexplicable event they will conclude that God, aliens or the CIA. Jehovahs people will know unless all evil people are killed and we are ushered into the new world, it will be the ultimate "fake news" When you can't believe your own eyes, most people wont know what to believe, we will.
(By the way nobspeople, great question !)

Benjamin Franklin said, “Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.”
That is the reason all major conspiracy theories are false. Being a believer or an unbeliever has nothing to do with it.
