Jesus did not teach, he made speeches!

The gospels repeat, again and again, that Jesus taught the people.
I don't think that he did, I think that he made political speeches.
His whole campaign was about a return to the old laws and an end to the corruption of the leadership.
His campaign was temporal, not spiritual, and he was a very poor teacher, more of a speechmaker.
If you have any doubts about this, you can read in the gospels about how so few people actually understood what he was saying.

So what's all this about 'teaching' and 'taught'?
Over to you all.......... :)

Yeshua's problem was that the Pharisees put tithes of herbs before honoring parents.
A bigger problem is that he couldn't keep his own teaching straight.

Yeshua taught that one was to do what the scribes say, not what they do. Yeshua's problem was that the Pharisees put tithes of herbs before honoring parents. Not that you can't do both, but you do one before the other.
Jesus wanted the old laws to be reinstated so that cohesion and provision would be present for all. That's it.
Paul didn't know anything about Jesus and never wrote one single sentence about anything that Jesus had ever done or said, apart from Paul's claims about the last hours.
And Jesus didn't teach...... he campaigned and spoke to people.
And Jesus was campaigning against 'The Priesthood and Temple'...... lots of Pharisees were not even Levites nor Temple Priests.

Yeah, sure. You sound as if you were there to document your points. As for the "Levites", they will be "purified" and reinstated at the "end of the age" (Zechariah 14 & Malachi 3), and the "Sancturary"/Temple, will be renewed (Ezekiel 37:28). The "Law" is for everyone (Ecc 12), but the "law" is for the holy people, Israel. I kind of think you don't keep the "law".

It seems that each of us have our 'takes' on how to interpret the Old and New Testaments. None of us were there so we have to see how we take what is written.

The Badger seems to go with the 'Real Jesus' hypothesis, which is that you have to see through the Christian overpainting of the Jewish Jesus who tried to reform the old Laws and correct the abuses. 2nd pillar appears to be more the 'Prophecy fulfilled' type who seeks clues to prophecy unfolding today in the Ot as much as in the New.

My take is quite different, and the reader or browser must decide from themselves.
