All Lives Matter, Blue Lives Matter..inclusive

Post by Elijah John »

"All Lives Matter" includes black lives, what's wrong with that?

"Blue Lives Matter", includes black cops, what's wrong with that?

How is either slogan "racist" as some charge? Both sound pretty inclusive (not divisive) to me, how about you?
My theological positions:

-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.

I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

These make light of the grievance of people of color.
How is either slogan "racist" as some charge? Both sound pretty inclusive (not divisive) to me, how about you?
At best it's insensitive. At worse it's an accusation that you only care about Black lives at the expense of other lives. Either way, it's an obstacle to racial equality.
How bout "back the blue". Is that racist and disrespectful now too? Is that a mockery?
In light of the current climate, it's worse than blue lives matter. This sends the message of active support for police brutality against people of color.
And I don't think you addressed the statement of NY BLM leader Hawk Newsome who said "we'll burn the system down if we don't get what we want, and I'll leave it to you to decide if I'm speaking literally, or figuratively". How is that not incitement to violence? How is that not a revealing statement as to the real agenda and tactics of BLM?

And just what do you think it is that BLM wants?
Police reform.
They seem to have many people duped into believing they're a civil rights organization. They are not. They are radicals who are content to "burn the system down", and get people they disagree with "cancelled". And they are not content with only destroying Confederate statues, now they are going after, (and have gone after) statues of Washington, Jefferson, and even Grant and Robert Gould Shaw!
How does any of that stop them from a civil right organization? (It's a movement, not really an organization.) It's not mutually exclusive with being radicals.
Do you support that?
Yes.
Where do you think this will end if BLM continues unchecked?
Equality for all races.

These make light of the grievance of people of color.
The grievance you speak of being the 9 unarmed blacks killed in 2019, out of a total of 375 million individual police interactions with the America public? The riots and looting from that grievance that has killed at least 26 people (most of them black) since that idiot knelt on George Floyd's neck? Ever hear of the old phrase that the cure might be worse than the disease?
How is either slogan "racist" as some charge? Both sound pretty inclusive (not divisive) to me, how about you?

Maybe that's how you take it, but that's not how it's meant. I think you know that too. I was going to comment on the racial equality, but I think you and I have different ideas about what that is and how it is obtained...
How bout "back the blue". Is that racist and disrespectful now too? Is that a mockery?

Nonsense. We support the people in the military without supporting the war, do we not? It's a unique type of....racism...you have, lumping all cops together because of the actions of a few. Literally no one in America thought George Floyd deserved what happen to him. No one. People universally denounced it, most of all almost every other cop. Supporting the police doesn't mean supporting police brutality, anymore than supporting a soldier means supporting a war. You lack some serious perspective, and even more disturbing is how you think in groups. A fan of Martin Luther King you are certainly not...

Please look into the organization BLM more. They are Marxists. They've even publicly stated that they are, and I quote, "trained Marxists". They want a socialist revolution, the racial tension is just a means to an end for them.

If they were interested in civil rights they wouldn't be committed Marxists. I've agreed with you quite a bit over the years on this website Bust, but you really need to get your head out of the sand on this one. There is something much bigger going on. People interested in civil rights don't commit violent acts night after night with no regard for life or limb.
Do you support that?
Yes.
Where do you think this will end if BLM continues unchecked?
Equality for all races.
We already have equality. We won't though if the socialists get their way...

Plus general racism in the police that doesn't escalate to homicide.
The riots and looting from that grievance that has killed at least 26 people (most of them black) since that idiot knelt on George Floyd's neck? Ever hear of the old phrase that the cure might be worse than the disease?
Riots is not supposed to be the cure though, police reform is.
Maybe that's how you take it, but that's not how it's meant. I think you know that too.
If you don't mean it, stay away from that phrase. There are plenty of instances where it is meant that way, there was even a guy here who made the accusation of only caring about black lives explicit.
I was going to comment on the racial equality, but I think you and I have different ideas about what that is and how it is obtained...
Sure.
Nonsense. We support the people in the military without supporting the war, do we not?
You need to take the context into account, in a climate of raging anti-war protests and riots, a slogan supporting the military will be seen as supporting the war, whether you meant it or not.
It's a unique type of....racism...you have, lumping all cops together because of the actions of a few.
That's like saying a bus is a unique type car, no, instead both are types of vehicles. Lumping all cops together and racism falls under the same category: prejudice. "A few bad apples" is often used to describe the police, but the full phrase is "a few bad apples spoil the bunch."

The "good cop" not ratting on their fellow officers is not really a good cop. The good cop who is genuinely unware of problematic behaviors of their fellow offices is an ineffective one. The good cop who does rat on their fellows are quickly not cops any more, or quickly learns to stay quiet.
Literally no one in America thought George Floyd deserved what happen to him. No one. People universally denounced it, most of all almost every other cop. Supporting the police doesn't mean supporting police brutality, anymore than supporting a soldier means supporting a war.
It doesn't mean that, but it would be taken as such given the context.
Please look into the organization BLM more. They are Marxists. They've even publicly stated that they are, and I quote, "trained Marxists". They want a socialist revolution, the racial tension is just a means to an end for them.
Being trained Marxists means they don't want police reform, how? If anything it's an obvious step for a socialist revolution.
If they were interested in civil rights they wouldn't be committed Marxists. I've agreed with you quite a bit over the years on this website Bust, but you really need to get your head out of the sand on this one. There is something much bigger going on. Really? I think you need to acknowledge the length people are willing to go to for civil rights are not set in stone.
We already have equality.
On paper, but it doesn't work out in practice.
We won't though if the socialists get their way...
Why not?
