I love it. Demonstrates conclusively that "when I was your age" is not a valid argument.

It may be true that age and wisdom tend to make a person realise a certain truth, but it is still illogical to expect that wisdom to be imparted merely by saying so. It's an appeal to authority in the self, which, as this cartoon shows, anyone can claim.

You have shown them nothing. Nothing but your stubbornness.

Adopting another person's perspective and making the attempt to see what they see, as well as not see what they don't see, while identifying what you both see and can therefore build on, is something lost on most of this planet's supposedly sentient life.
