In the Gospels Jesus calls himself (the) "Son of man" 78 times. He is also referred to as (the) "Son of man" in Acts, Hebrews, and Revelation. Of course Jesus is also called (the) "Son of God", but less than 50 times. So what gives here? Even if he was called (the) "Son of God" 300 times, the fact remains; he called himself (the) "Son of man" an extraordinary number of times. Not "son of woman," which would make perfect sense (although extremely unlikely because of women's lowly status back then), but "son of man," which, in light of his supposed pedigree, makes no sense at all: According to the tale, no man was ever involved in Jesus's conception, so why say there was, both by Jesus and others?
Mark 14:62
"And Jesus said, ‘I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."
