I recall being taught, as a christian, I was part of god's army. I was told to witness and try to bring people 'into the fold'. Seems becoming a christian, oft times, drafts one into a wholly war!
This may not apply to all faith as I haven't been a member of all faiths.
As a christian, are you a part of god's army as described above?
If so, did you know this before becoming a christian, or was it thrusts upon you once you became a member of the clique?
If you are a marching soldier in god's army, what have you done recently to win souls and prove your worth to the almighty?
God's army

Re: God's army
Post #21I'd be more interested in if christians get demerits as many of them don't seem to have the attitude towards others, in words, that one would expect of a follower of jesus. Higher standards and all that....Tcg wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 10:59 pmDo you also get credit for the time you spend on this forum?JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 2:08 pm
I believe working for God involves preaching and teaching about the kingdom. I spend a part of each week doing this (Post COVID by telephone and letter writing)

Edit: profession? Is that the right word? I smell the goat on the grill and can't think straight.

Post #23Maybe confession is a better word? Profession might work too. But it, like the bible, is all about context: I knew what you 'meant'JoeyKnothead wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 1:26 pmWho needs standards when a deathbed profession of fealty fixes it all right up?nobspeople wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 8:50 amI'd be more interested in if christians get demerits as many of them don't seem to have the attitude towards others, in words, that one would expect of a follower of jesus. Re: God's army
Post #28The theist side at times claim to know what we mean better than we do.It's why they can replacewhat we say with what they think
'I'm an atheist' .."You really mean,I hate Gog""
"I'm a materialist based on science" ..."You think you know it all"
"I'm not convinced by supernatural claims"...You're closed - minded".
I was once given a link to a discussion between David Woods and Matt Dillahunty which came down to whether life had any meaning without an afterlife -belief. There is a paper yet to be written on body -language in religious debates. David Woods' was telling. While Dillahunty was saying "It's like talking to a brick wall" Woods was leaning across, arms outstretched, miming trying to dump something large and heavy into Matt's lap.
"You must accept this, which I am trying to give you". The trick of brainwashing into Faith is the lock and load of the Theist army (see what I did there?
