Paradise on Earth

Post by onewithhim »

When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?

If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.

We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

Matthew 5:5
Psalm 37:9-11,29

Man was created for a reason and purpose.
Yes I know, to populate this our planet earth and live on it forever.
Mankind was given dominion over the earth for 6,000 years -- not forever.
Where do you get this idea from?

JW
The Holy Bible!
Do you have a reference?

JW
Actually, 6,000 years is the time from man's creation in the garden of Eden until the Second Coming.

And the Millennium period of rest begins at the Second Coming and lasts for 1,000 years.

Then the judgment begins for nonbelievers.

So when does man lose his dominion over the earth?

Probably after the Millennium, or 7,000 years from his creation in the garden.

People awaiting judgment generally have lost their dominion over anything.

I guess I'll go with the 7,000 years.

Do you need references?

====================================

Here is one statement which can be said with certainty:

After the last human faces his or her judgment and is either born again as a spirit into the Kingdom of God, or cast into the lake of fire and instantly dies the second death, the age of man is over!

At that point man is extinct.

Yes I'm interested in the "not forever" part of your statement ... I would like to see biblical reference that proves that mankind was NOT given dominion over the earth FOREVER

Thanks

Mankind doesn't live forever.

Why would God give mankind everlasting dominion over anything that outlasts mankind?

Mankind is not qualified for any everlasting tasks.

Can you give any biblical reference that mankind was created to live forever?

Not as humans they won't!
JW wrote:Since God's original stated purpose was he dominate the earth, do you have a scripture that indicates It wont be forever?
Only those born again of the Spirit will dominate the earth for ever and ever.

And those born again of the Spirit are no longer human beings.

That which is born of the Spirit is a spirit, not a human.

So no human will dominate the earth forever. No human even lives forever -- as per God's design of mankind!

We (mankind) were created with two differences between us and God and the angels. Those differences were knowledge of good and evil and longevity.

I would hate to have to explain YOUR blasphemous statements to Christ when he comes back.

And you claim I am mistaken??
Whose definition is that? ;)

Yes I can, see below ...

The only way for a human to NOT live forever as a human, is to die; so if a human never dies he will always be a human
[1] 1 CORINTHIANS 15: 35, 36, 44

Yes, with what sort of body are they coming?” You unreasonable person! What you sow is not made alive unless first it dies ... It is sown a physical body; it is raised up a spiritual body.

Did God WANT Adam to die and spread death to his children? No, Adam was commanded by God NOT to do the one thing that would cause him to die
[2] GENESIS 2 : 16, 17

Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”
God's purpose was thus evidently that Adam not eat from the forbidden tree and die, but rather that he live on forever as a human.

Image

Jesus sacrifice reversed the ill effects of Adam's sin[/b]
[3] ROMANS 5:21

So that just as sin ruled as king with death, so also undeserved kindness might rule as king through righteousness leading to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Adam didn't introduce death to spirits, he introduced death to HUMANS. When "Adamic" death is eliminated, death will be removed from humans. The only way for humans to die from then on will be to sin.[/b]
[4] ISAIAH 65 :20b - New Living Translation

“No longer will babies die when only a few days old. No longer will adults die before they have lived a full life. No longer will people be considered old at one hundred! Only the cursed will die that young!

If in the future only the acursed humans have their lives cut short , faithful humans will live forever in the flesh.

OBJECTION: But will they live forever as spirits? NO , the only way for a human to NOT live forever as a human, is to die (see [1])

. . faithful humans will live forever in the flesh.
But God promised them everlasting spiritual life under the New Testament Covenant.

Believers are supposed to become equal unto the angels.

Why do you condemn faithful humans to all of the negative characteristics of humans -- for eternity?

Are they being punished for some reason?

God is supposed to be honest and true, and always honor His covenants!

That being the case, if He promised them everlasting spiritual bodied life, but gives them only everlasting human life, then He did not fulfill the promise He made in His covenant!

Do you believe that Jehovah Witnesses have authority to amend the New Testament Covenant?

If so, aren't they at odds with God?
