Paradise on Earth

Post by onewithhim »

When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?

If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.

We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

Matthew 5:5
Psalm 37:9-11,29

Believe as you wish. We've discussed this ad nauseum and never the twain shall meet. Let's agree to disagree.
Peace.
No, I can't simply believe whatever, or what is necessarily taught by mankind.

I'm a Christian, and as such, I am compelled to believe the scriptures.
But you are not believing the scriptures and that is why I said you and I will never come to an agreement. We have to agree to disagree or we will be butting heads forever.
Perhaps if you could answer one question to help explain your belief.

You claimed that "The earth was always a part of Jehovah's family, intended to house humans for an eternity."

Do you mean that the same humans will live for eternity on the earth?

Or do you mean human life will go on as it is now, generation upon generation for eternity?

Or some of both?

That begs the question, is "earth" eternal? Are the sun and moon eternal? Where are the 144,000 saved JWs living as of 1918?

It also begs the question as to how all of these humans will avoid deadly accidents eternally.

The earth is eternal. Jehovah will never let it come to an end, just like the sun and the moon will always be. The 144,000 go to heaven the instant they die, and this has gone on since 1918. Of course many were "asleep" in their graves until that year. But now they won't "sleep"....they immediately go to be with Jesus.

Say, are you an ex-JW?

We don't know for sure how that will be taken care of, but it has been surmised that the billions of angels will be our close friends and will guard us from doing something stupid. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

The Bible tells us exactly how it will work out!

There will be no humans on the earth eternally. Former human Christians will be born again of the Spirit and become equal unto the angels at or after the Second Coming.

The New Testament Covenant divides all humanity into two groups -- believers and nonbelievers:

John 3:16 wrote:For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You create a problem for yourself by treating a third subgroup, the 144,000 differently.

Are the 144,000 believers or nonbelievers?

If they are believers, their inheritance will be to become equal unto the angels -- exactly like every other believer!

Sorry to spoil the ending for you.

Actually, the scriptural ending is infinitely better!

And exactually why do you think this verse proves that humans will be on the earth eternally?
