Hi.
I started this thread to share something which I find fascinating and would like some critique re the system I use to generate messages as I share these in this thread.
I would like to discuss the scientific value in terms of both subjectivity and objectivity to do with the way in which the messages are generated [to be explained] and perhaps how the reader interprets the message generated [assuming they see any message] and other related subjects branching from this.
I will also be using as evidence, the way in which words corelate with math, such as;

The idea that the sentences are of similar length would be expected. There is also similar rhythm, and that would be expected as well.
Remember, we are not specifically dealing with written words but with symbols which represent spoken sounds.
The formation of sound into language through the human voice specifically comes from somewhere other than the symbols we use to denote said sounds.
What we can agree to is that , wherever the source comes from re the formation of these sounds and subsequent formation of the symbols for the sounds, would be the same source.

The ability to do this, has to be sourced at the same place as the ability for humans to speak language.
Why I use both systems together is because, when selecting word-strings off my ComList as randomly as one can, the results are coherent messages and as such, are likely coherent because the same intelligent source is in play behind the process of both the evolution of plants and human language and everything else earth-side.
So it is the intelligent source which is the focus. We cannot easily invoke 'the brain did it' because we are dealing with objective reality and many individualized brains involved with objective reality know that an individual brain does not effect either word-string values or randomly selected word-strings which become coherent messages, any more than it effects the temperature of Sol or how plants organize themselves in a jungle - so in that, the individual brain can be ruled out as the source of the phenomena occurring with the use of these systems I am using to obtain on-growing evidence.
Therefore, "Something Else" other than brains, has to be the Source.

If we regard the samples you gave form the e-books and the e-books as coherent messages that the reader understands, and the authors as the source of the "Comlists" they used in order to write the coherent messages [books] we have in your samples data compiled relevant to the data samples you used in relation to the wordstrings value of 466...
We can then look for the correlating patterns in said samples as stand alone...
for example the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone message [book];
Where they correlate, is that they are part of the story but don't correlate in the same way with the other parts of the other stories, if we place them altogether.
If I add all of the 466's together and shuffle them;

There is no clear connect apart from - as you pointed out - letter count and as I pointed out - rhythmic quality - even that all word-strings we know add up to the same value.
Therefore, part of the process of generating coherent messages has to do with subject matter, and subject matter can involve anything which the subject is about....
In my case, I am exploring the idea of a Mind behind creation - so that is my subject matter.
If the process was used for the subject of biology or any other science or non-science subject, ones ComList would have relevant entries specific to the subject.
In the case of the subject I am investigating, this allows for practically everything which exists to be included on the ComList - yet I would not use most of those examples you gave from the e-books as entries on my particular com-list unless I saw relevance in doing so.
I might place these ones on my list, [with edits] as they are somewhat related phrases to The Subject

Hopefully you will expand on this idea that it become less abstruse.Without mincing words, the evidence you're presenting is extremely poor. I explained earlier why any possible information from your method is overwhelmed by simple correlation with phrase length.

The fact that these word-strings add up to the same value, and coherently support the ideas being presented, is evidence of a mindful/purposeful order about The Universe ...the question then being;
Q: Is it therefore acceptable to conclude that such being the case, then there is wisdom and righteousness involved in hiding the truth within the structure of the sound of human language to be unlocked by a simple number-value algorithm? [SOURCE]
The patterns as such shows that your explanation reenforces the science as it explains how sound [spoken language] has math behind it...when coded and then decoded through this process.It's also evidence that they're of similar length. A simple experiment in the post I linked gave us an average letter value of 13.7. The average length of a phrase that adds to 466 is 34 letters. Your phrases above have 36, 40, 37, and 37 letters. I wrote a script to generate your numbers for sentences and ran it on a few ebooks I have. here are some other phrases that add up to 466. See if you can find a pattern other than similar length.

Post #92Built into your method is a strong correlation with string length. Your system is just adding numbers together, so you're going to get a bell curve centered on the average. If you were to define a way to graph meaning, any curve corresponding to meaning will be much, much weaker than the bell curve. Unrelated concepts that are the same length are much more likely to be correlated than related concepts of different lengths. Looking at your lists, that's what I see. You are telling us that the concepts are somehow related, but without presenting some objective way to measure that, it just looks to me like the meaning is all being put there by you. You're seeing a reflection of yourself and calling it the creator. That in itself may be a profound thought, but it's not evidence of any mind or mindfulness that is external to you, even in a shared sense with the rest of us. I don't see it. As you describe it yourself, you are collecting phrases that are already meaningful to the topic at hand, sorting them (although imperfectly) by length, and then seeing meaning in the selection of phrases that you're getting back out. Your method is so susceptible to confirmation bias that I'm utterly convinced that's all there is. I've tried to offer you ways to eliminate the confirmation bias, but you've just told me that the validity of your method is so obvious to you that you don't need to. That apparent obviousness is what confirmation bias is!
You're not coding the language, you're averaging it. You're taking all of the information from your phrases and smoothing it to a single point. As you said, you have to curate the phrases yourself before you start seeing meaning. That's because the curation process is what's putting the meaning into your experiment, but you're attributing it to something else.
Why? Do differently numbered phrases produce a different rhythm?
How does that manifest in your experiment?
But your method doesn't take that sound into account. It's only the symbols. A string of 26 "a" is the same as a single "z." Is that meaningful? Do you claim that's an exception? An outlier? How do you quantify that? Or do you just know it when you see it?
A random collection of letters that defy pronunciation rules still results in a valid numeric value. If you create a rule to distinguish them, that is again a signal that you are adding to the data yourself. It should come as no surprise that you can see the signal.
That's a valid question, but your experiment doesn't address it at all.

That sentence was able to be written because the sound of language has already been coded.
Even before the advent of written language, the sound of human language was coded into meaning. The overall meaning is called "Spoken Language"
From a purely materialistic world view, language appears to have just been made up as humans went along. They need a 'word' to name an object, one is selected from the invisible realm of the mind, and 'presto!".
Yet the data I am presenting is showing another way of viewing the process...in that there is an overall overarching/underlying intelligence to the process...since words made up by humans have been coded into symbols which can be used to carry thoughts from one mind to another.
Written Language.
I am decoding it, by use of a simple code [A=6...Z=26] and using that decoding to help in the process of gathering data and sorting said data.
The single point is The Source.
If anyone has a better explanation as to what the data signifies, that is information I am interested in.
For example, in order for me to understand the sentence;
"I am not arguing that I coded the sound of the spoken language."
I myself have to learn the language enough to see meaning in the sentence.
The curating done, is therefore what my teaches taught me in order that I am able to understand the sentence.
The curating is done when I am taking my first baby steps and learning to say "dada" and "mama" and after uttering those sounds, show at least that I am able to do that - so the next level entry is made available to me, and I learn how to shape the sounds I can make, following codes which have been around since long before my own arrival on this planet.
What I do re sorting the same-value phrases, has to do with the common sense of that understanding. These things have been given to me, now what to do with these things...
For example - a recent subject I posted on, was asking questions re the existence of The Devil.
I think it is an interesting subject for questions, and wonder if any answer could be found.
When I check out the value of the written words "The Devil" I get.
The Devil = 85
I then check the data I currently have for that number value;

2: From what I am seeing re the data - It shows clearly that an underlying intelligence operates quietly in the background of the Universes Structure.
Furthermore, there are is no word in the written language consisting of 26 a's because there is no meaningful word which has been created as spoken language, corresponding to it.
So in that sense, your example seems to be an exception - and a rather unnecessary one for that.

I do not agree with you that either system I am using is fudged by confirmation bias.
What I can say is that it was bias which originally had me get into investigating this as I - at the time - was Agnostic but due to subjective experiences I have had, I leaned towards theism.
Because of the theistic leaning, I understand I was more inclined to making the effort to do the science because the subject interested me.
In the same way, most non-theists are not interested in doing the science because they lean toward non-theism.
Furthermore, only yesterday I decided that - due to the evidence revealed in the process of Generating Messages - I no longer have any reasonable option to retain the position of agnostic, and thus have dropped that altogether.
I am fine now with referring to my position as theistic, as agnosticism merges into the shadow behind me.
Now you might say that this is a clear case of bias, but I would argue that there must come a point in one's lifetime, where whatever evidence one has discovered truth about, has to be accepted, and in the accepting, this is not being bias toward any particular aspect/branch of theism - but bias toward the revealed truth, which is that we exist within a creation and there is a mind behind the creation to which one can interreact with and learn from.
Who wouldn't want that, if it were there on offer?
Perhaps only those who's bias lean toward retaining the position of "lacking belief in gods".
And if we are to be truthful [and why shouldn't we be?] confirmation bias cuts both ways - non-theists are just as susceptible to that bias as theists are. Evidence supporting which way best to lean is subject to confirmation bias, I totally agree.
But once supporting evidence comes along, it is no longer a case of bias - it is a confident walk on the even surface of sureness, without the faith.
However, I am always open to being shown otherwise, but so far your efforts to convince me I am suffering confirmation bias and you trying to insert 26 a's into the spoken language as some kind of justified argument, hasn't helped your case at all.

So by the very fact that phrases have numeric values has to do with the idea that they do so because the source of sound re language is intelligent.
