Surely that provided statement is nothing other than an opinion, right?Aetixintro wrote: ...For debate:Aetixintro wrote: God is all-good and God has created humanity for the aim of goodness.

Hopefully our claimant will feel the need to clarify.

You could everyone call all-good if you choose to make his behaving your ideal.
To make behaving of Bible god ideal though, is like calling Jack the Ripper all-good.

What does that mean, 'true and factual'?Aetixintro wrote: ...For debate:Aetixintro wrote: God is all-good and God has created humanity for the aim of goodness.

Ultimately God represents a value system. So to answer your question we'd need to ask what God values (and whether this is the right thing to value,) and whether God's words and actions are consistent. Only then would God be 'all-good'; having, as God would, the right values, words, and actions to bring it all into being.
Personally, I think God has at least 2/3rds of that equation. God has the right values and words (at least most of the time) but where God is lacking is in the action. God doesn't always have the power or option to do what God would do. But it's hard to hold that against God, frankly, when God makes it clear that it is also our fault (made as we are in God's image, and being the ones with the power to actually do something about it when we see it).

Post #7I suppose it depends on which god we are talking about. And whether the 'just one god' that probably will be claimed is like the one in the Bible. If it is, we have to ask whether Christian dogmas about God (heaven and hell) are really what this god wants. Because heaven and hell are as immoral a system as one could devise. It's why some Christians at least reject Hell at least and opt for UR. There has to be something wrong with the morality for them to do that.
In addition, the very act of blaming it all on humans or excusing God with something like 'he has to do that' shows that there is something wrong.
So in the end to those who reject the idea of Biblegod (or any other apart from an impassive Cosmic Mind that made everything and has no particular interest in any one religion) suggesting a 'Good' nature seems an empty claim without anything substantial to back that up, because the bible sure as heck doesn't.
