We have in Luke 24:51:
"While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven."
We now know that heaven is not in the area of the clouds. Of course in the time of Christ it was believed that the home of God was in the sky: heaven and sky are often the same.
Does this account show that there was fabrication, based on false beliefs?
If Jesus knew heaven wasn't in the sky, why would he employ deception, rising to nowhere?
Or is the account - as usual - figurative. Jesus was raised to eminence, but not literally.
To where did Jesus ascend?

Yeah. Ascend to where.
If he even ascended where did he go?
He even makescl a fool out of his followers when he says I go my way and none of you ask me where I am going.
But people are willing to follow him. To where? They don't know. Good luck with that

I believe "follow" for the vast majority of Christians is metaphoric, meaning do as he did on matters of faith, follow the example he left us in regards to respecting the laws and principles found in God's word. To "follow" Christ means to apply his teachings in our lives, not to literally go where he goes.

We have determined that the writers use figurative terms like "blind" and "dead" and "good shepherd".JehovahsWitness wrote:

In the same gospel vein, "heaven" may simply refer to part of a religious building, and it would indeed be possible literally follow Jesus.
"God" … just whatever humans imagine it to be.
"Scripture" … just whatever humans write it to be.

These people didnt live in no DC universe. There wasnt a Darkseid Dimension or a Cryme Syndicate paralell universe behind every corner!
Chist ascending to heaven is dogma. So if one fights that dogma where else does he want Christ to have ascended to?
