evolutionary attack

Post by Wootah »

Is there a word for when one creature convinces another creature to not do something in its evolutionary interest?

Like when a cuckoo bird takes over a nest and the other bird feeds it thinking it is feeding its children?

Or more to my point, if I can convince someone they are gay or should not have children because of the planet or there is no God - what would be the word for that?

They believed that killing was justified to assist natural selection.

This is a bit like claiming that teacup poodles came about as a result of natural selection. If humans are doing something to "assist" natural selection, then it is not natural selection it is guided selection. So, these kids did not understand the definition of natural selection. Beyond that, so what? What do the actions of these mass-murders have to do with the reality of natural selection as a process?

Fantasy is a huge part of it.
Fantasy is all of it with the biggest fantasy being that one can convince someone else that they are gay. Of course, the mystery remains. What in the world does this have to do with evolution or an attack?

If you read the whole article it is perfectly clear that they were not using natural selection to justify their actions. They were disturbed, violent, filled with hate and wanted to leave a lasting impression on the world. Precisely what they meant with that statement is not clear, particularly with the reference to revenge combined with some imagined consequence of their actions.

Even if I granted you this one example as being valid though (I'm not), Ham stated the following:

"The growing acceptance of atheistic evolution has resulted in many rejected God as Created. Over the years, many have used evolution to justify sinful behavior.".

Are you able to offer any support for the claim of many? Can Ham honestly make that claim if there is no irrefutable evidence for it to be found?

Yes, just like communism has never been tried. Or is the no true scotsmen fallacy at work?

Nope. Until there is valid evidence for the claim, Ham is just pulling stuff out of his back pocket. Can you prop up his claim or not?

Is sin real for you? Do you believe in sinful behaviour?

Is sin real for you?
This is an absurd question. Sin is either real or it is not. It can't be real for some folks and not real for others. Sin is the concept that some action violates God's rules. If there are no god/gods, then the concept of sin isn't real for anyone.
Do you believe in sinful behaviour?
This question is addressed above.

The question that remains unaddressed is, "What does any of this have to do with evolution or an attack." I've asked this or some version of it numerous times and yet it remains unanswered.
