Do we believe in Christ?

Post by Revelations won »

As Christians we often say or claim to "believe in Christ".

What must we do as christians to prove worthy of that claim?

Is there some basic requirement or requirements that we must meet to be worthy of our claims to really believe in Christ?

Yes , to claim to be a Christian one at least, has to believe the words of Jesus to be truth.
Believing in God Would be another.
(and if you believe the words of Jesus you Know your heading in the right direction.)

From an outsider's point of view it would require a suspension or rejection of all disbelief. However, this would require a justifiable reason, which I, personally, have not seen. Not saying there isn't any, just that, to my knowledge, it hasn't surfaced.

To believe in Christ means to accept him as our Lord and saviour. We show we have done this when we imitate him to the very best of our ability and obey his commandements.

Which of his commandments do you attempt to obey?

I don't think anyone must prove they believe in Christ. I think, to truly be a Christian, a disciple of Jesus, one should remain in the word of Jesus.

...in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.
Acts 11:26

Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, "If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
John 8:31-32
