When I lived in Bali, I couldn't help observing the pervasive evidence of belief in demons. And of course demons put in an appearance in the Bible, not to mention in the gargoyles of old cathedrals.
On the other hand, modern science would seem to categorically reject the existence of demons, without a clear reason why, unless it has to do with the axiomatic presuppositions of science's governing ideology of reductionist materialism.
Question: Do demons exist? What evidence is there, for or against?

I'm content in concluding the observer won't be buying what you're trying to be selling.
NOTHING.
But demand proof of every word.
I take that back.
You have proven that you cannot prove anything you state.

Post #593It seems as if many care more about being perceived as some authority then telling or knowing if they are telling the truth.JoeyKnothead wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 5:11 amEver notice how upset some folks get when, in debate, ya got the temerity to ask em how we can know they speak truth?OneWay wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 4:45 amYou have provenJoeyKnothead wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 4:30 amWe've devolved to the "I know you are, but what am I" level now.

You have proven that you cannot prove anything you state.
The evidence from this thread:
Person A) But the difference is, I can prove all mine.
Person B) Yet have failed to do just that.
Person A) You have yet to prove it (that I can't prove my claims). So that is not true.
First, assume and claim authority.
Second, get questioned about said claims and presumed authority.
Third, note how the empty/unevidenced claim put forth by the person seeking authority and making empty claims has not been shown to be false.
Fouth, be proud of the failed logical thinking and proceed with presuming to have knowledge that has not been demonstrated.
It seems to me that there is a point where a person can be so heavenly, that they really aren't much earthly good (in certain situation, not generally speaking of course).
A) I'm so heavenly and have heavenly knowledge.
B) Please show this to be true.
A) You can't show that it is false! Glory be!
OneWay, I happen to know that your prefered god concept is false and I can prove it.
You rightly should ask for said proof don't you think?
My reply: Prove that I can't! My claims are unassailable and therefore correct!
Do you see why this is a failure in logical thinking and why you should abandon it? It's ok if you can't, I'm sure our readers can see it.

Re: Do demons exist? Can that be tested?
Post #598Nope, I debate for the readers and to sharpen my own thinking.
Also, to debate you would be to allow you to drag me down to your level (empty claims like: "there is nothing about me is false. Including my God.") to then beat me with experience.
I prefer logic over assertions and you don't seem to have any logic to share. Plenty of assertions though. Therefore, nothing to debate as you don't seem to understand how un-impressive empty claims from unknown internet posters are.
Do be well though.
