Is the holy spirit a living being?

Post by kjw47 »

Is the holy spirit a living being with equality to the Father and son? Lets look at bible facts.

1) The Father has a name-YHWH(Jehovah) the son has a name Jesus-Holy spirit-0
2) The Father seen on a throne, the son seen on a throne-Holy spirit-0
3)The Father shares certain things with the son-Holy spirit-0
4)Many very important passages in NT where only the Father and son are spoken of-holy spirit-2
The most important one being John 17:3--This means eternal life, their knowing you( Father) THE ONLY TRUE GOD and the one whom you sent forth Christ Jesus. Holy spirit-0

No is the answer i see. How about you?

The new Catholic encyclopedia 1967 Vol XIII Page 575-- The majority of NT texts reveal Gods spirit as something not someone.

Good! You believe God is living. So do I.

Do you believe God is Spirit? (John 4:24). Yes or No?

Yes i believe he is a spirit. But not the HS. That is his active force.

Wow. Quite the imagination there.

Can you produce a single verse of Scripture that demonstrates Jesus being "taught" by any man?

Can you produce a single verse that reveals any of these teachers?

That oughta keep you busy.
The teachers Jesus appoints i was speaking of.

You couldn't be further from the Truth.

The Holy Spirit's name is Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:9-11
John 14:21-23
1 Peter 1:11

Gods sons name is Jesus--The holy spirit descended from heaven at Jesus baptism(Matt 3:16) like a dove proving it is not Jesus.

Wrong again.

The throne of the Holy Spirit is God's (Jesus') throne. Is Jesus not the King?
Matthew 25:34

God shares everything with the Holy Spirit, and Christ, as He IS the Holy Spirit.
John 4:24
Romans 8:9-11

Matt 3:16- proves you are in error.

I'm sorry, that doesn't prove what you would like for it to. There are far too many verses that contradict your proposed position.

Luke 24:27
John 14:21-23
Romans 8:9-11
2 Peter 1:21

... and many more.

Many false doctrines are built upon a single verse of Scripture that is contradicted many places throughout.

All sound doctrine coincides with the Bible in its entirety.

Jesus Christ IS the Holy Spirit and that FACT is supported throughout the Bible.

Good! You believe God is living, and you believe God is Spirit. Me too!

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God (Genesis 1:2). Do you believe the Spirit of God is dead?

This - the bold - is correct (even if not quite complete):

Christ is the Spirit. Christ is the HOLY One of God. Ergo: Christ is the Holy Spirit.

That being said, 'holy spirit' is often referring to the breath/blood/seed of JAH. That is the holy spirit that Christ breathed upon His apostles (John 20:22). Christ did not breath Himself onto the apostles (nor did He breathe any other person onto the apostles). Unless holy spirit is referring to Christ (for the most part that I know of), then it is referring to the breath/blood/seed of JAH. <- This is what Christ anoints His people with, it is what He baptizes us with; and makes us SONS with, and it is also the WATER that He invites us to come to Him and drink (for FREE). This is what God breathed into Adam (obviously, it is the breath of God.)

The problem in what is written is that the scribes always personified holy spirit as if it was a third person in the trinity, because that is what was already believed. And that has created confusion.

Peace again to you all,
your servant and a slave of Christ,
