1. Jehovah’s Witnesses say Jesus was “a god.” This is how the NWT reads (John 1:1).
Do JW’s believe Jesus was a true or false god?
2. JW’s say Jesus is a created being.
When was Jesus (capital or lower case g) created?
I look forward to your responses to one or both questions.

Re: Questions about Jesus and JW’s
Post #191I gave JW irrefutable proof that John 8:24 does not include the word “he” as he claimed. Why won’t JW acknowledge his error?
How Watchtower defines “owlam” doesn’t negate the fact that Jesus would be called FATHER, EVERLASTING FATHER. Jesus is the Father.
Jesus is YHWH. The evidence is overwhelming. And unless you believe Jesus when He repeatedly tells you He is the great I AM, you will die in your sins.

Re: Questions about Jesus and JW’s
Post #193IS THE THE FACT THAT JESUS IS CALLED "EVERLASTING FATHER" MEAN HE HAD NO BEGINNING ?ISAIAH 9:6 NKJV
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
The Hebrew rendered as "everlasting" in the New King James Version of Isaiah 9v6 is not Olam but ad from the Hebrew adah (#5710) . This word can be translated in various ways including "evermore". That ad / adah does not have to mean "without beginning" can be seen from how the NKJV renders the following scripture . ..
So the mountains are described as [ad] ; the hills as [olam] ... are we to conclude the mountains and the hills had no beginning? Obviously neither word has to mean without beginning.HABAKKUK 3:6
He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting [ad] mountains were scattered, the perpetual [olam] hills did bow: his ways are everlasting [olam]
One becomes a father at the specific moment when one has a child. Jesus, as the Prince of peace, from the moment he replaced Adam as mankind's Father, remains so on into the future. But there is nothing in ISAIAH 9 v 6 that imposes the Prince of Peace had no beginning.

Re: Questions about Jesus and JW’s
Post #195So this goes against what the trinity is supposed to be.
What I have read is that The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit are three persons in one Godhead.
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Trinity-Christianity
Jesus is his own person and the Father is his own person right? They are separate individuals, correct? Yet you say that one person is both the Father and the Son?
Please explain your version of the trinity doctrine.

Re: Questions about Jesus and JW’s
Post #196I never use the term trinity. Why? Because the Scriptures don’t. I have come to realize that non-Scriptural words cause division in the body. My belief is that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the ONE TRUE GOD. How that can be is beyond my human comprehension. I only know what God’s word teaches, and I accept it by faith, which comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17)2timothy316 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 9:39 amSo this goes against what the trinity is supposed to be.

IMHO, the problem comes with the word “person.” Do people mean a flesh and blood human person, or are they referring to the characteristics a person has? How would you define it?
IMHO, Father, Son and Holy Spirit have human characteristics: emotions, will, etc. We are created in the image of God. Perhaps saying three persons in one God helps people to understand better. I have no idea. All I know is that there is ONE GOD, and He is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each is called God in Scripture. We read about them in different situations, times and places. Sometimes we see God, the Father. At other times we see Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we see all three together like at the baptism of Jesus. All I know is that they work together as a team for the benefit of mankind.
Much of the problem lies in the fact that some cannot grasp that with our GREAT YHWH, all things are possible. That would include being in more than one place and in a variety of forms in the same moment. There are countless stories throughout the Bible where YHWH did exactly that.
Please address my post # 191 in your own words. I do not read links, so please don’t waste space posting them.

Interesting. So you're completely making a dogma on your own and have split from the traditional trinty.
I wonder how others who believe the trinity feel about this.

Post #199Oh you don't read the encyclopedia Britannica and see it as a waste of space?MissKate13 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 9:59 am

Wow! My bad, I thought you read reference works?
At any rate, the encyclopedia is very different about its description of the trinity from the one you present.

Re: Questions about Jesus and JW’s
Post #200I posted my beliefs. I don’t use the term trinity. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are described in the Bible as having a will, emotions, etc. We have been created in God’s image having those same characteristics. Perhaps this is why some say three persons in God. I state how I view YHWH which may be different than most. My belief is Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the ONE TRUE GOD. I have proven that with the Scriptures. End of story.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 10:10 am
